Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2015 im Fachbereich BWL - Controlling, Note: 1,7, Hochschule Mainz, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Anwendbarkeit der in der Theorie zugrunde liegenden Controlling-Instrumente gestaltet sich in der Praxis aufgrund von Unternehmensstruktur, Zielsetzungen der Unternehmensführung und Anerkennung des Controllings im Unternehmen nicht immer einfach. Während des Praxissemesters in einem internationalen Logistikkonzern, welcher in über 50 Ländern mit Niederlassungen und über 7000 Mitarbeitern vertreten ist und daher nicht dem wirtschaftlichen Mittelstand zuzuordnen ist, fiel auf, dass zwar innerhalb eines aufwendigen Standard-Reportings auf Grundlage der Monatsabschlüsse des Rechnungswesens nach HGB und IFRS überwiegend monetäre Kennzahlen in der Auswertung zur Geltung kommen, diese jedoch abhängig von Unternehmenserfolg des vorherigen Quartals ausgebaut oder gekürzt wurden. Diese Erfahrung bildet die Grundlage für die Motivation dieser Thesis. 99,6% der deutschen Unternehmen sind dem Mittelstand zuzuordnen und repräsentieren damit die deutsche Wirtschaft. Nach dieser Erkenntnis kam folgender Grundgedanke auf: Wie ist es für kleine und mittelständische Unternehmen möglich, die Unternehmensstrategie auf Kennzahlen abzuleiten, um bei effizientem Einsatz mit wenigen Kennzahlen die Leistungsfähigkeit eines Unternehmens zu beurteilen und es erfolgreich zu führen. Diese Bachelorthesis setzt sich mit dem Thema des Nutzen und der Einführung von Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in kleinen und mittelständischen Unternehmen (KMU) auseinander. Als Kennzahlen sind KPIs ein wichtiges Werkzeug für die Leistungsbemessung von Teilprozessen in Unternehmen und orientieren sich bei ihrer Implementierung an der strategischen Ausrichtung eines Unternehmens. Nach einer Grundsteinlegung der Begrifflichkeiten und Bedeutungen des Themenkomplexes der Kennzahlen im Controlling und der Ausprägung als KPI im mittelständischen Umfeld, beschäftigt sich Kapitel 3 mit dem Nutzen und der Einführung von KPI am Beispiel zwei ausgewählter mittelständischer Unternehmen. In Anlehnung an die Balance Scorecard erfolgt im engen Kontext der beiden fiktiven Unternehmen eine beispielhafte Einführung von KPI, um die Leistungsfähigkeit und den darauf abgeleiteten Unternehmenserfolg zu erfassen und durch gezielte Maßnahmen zu beeinflussen.
