Essa ordem terá um ou dois volumes próprios, a depender da quantidade de informações biológicas que for possível reunir, pois sua quantidade de espécies é enorme, extrapolando os limites de tamanhos possíveis para esse volume. O presente livro apresenta informações ao nível de família e ao nível de espécie, tais como comprimento e peso das aves, seu habitat, alimentação, reprodução, distribuição geográfica e altitudinal, predadores, comportamentos e sinonímias recentes. Ao todo foram consultadas mais de 2.900 referências para compor o livro. Se todo esse esforço valeu a pena, cabe ao leitor julgar.
