O livro “COVID-19: Letramento, Educação Especial e Saúde Mental” trata-se do septuagésimo livro da Coleção Comunicação e Políticas Públicas, o qual tem como objetivo promover um amplo debate sobre um tripé temático muito pouco discutido no contexto de difusão da pandemia da Doença do Coronavírus 2019 (COVID-19), embora com significativa relevância empírica no contexto educacional para o público de discentes e docentes. Tomando como referência o tripé temático do letramento, da Educação Especial e da Saúde Mental de discentes e docentes, este livro promove relevantes debates sobre os desafios trazidos pela pandemia da COVID-19 ao contexto escolar e as consequentes estratégias e dilemas existentes no ensino remoto, permitindo assim refletir sobre a realidade educacional brasileira em temáticas tão pouco exploradas. Organizado com base em sete capítulos, a presente obra instiga uma pioneira leitura sobre temáticas consideradas relativamente marginais no debate público sobre os impactos da pandemia da COVID-19 no campo educacional, fomentando assim não apenas uma análise descritiva dos desafios enfrentados, mas também uma análise prescritiva funcional para a gestão escolar e o policymaking da política educacional lato sensu.
