Esta é a 2ª edição revista e ampliada do bem-sucedido Dicionário de Onomatopeias e Vocábulos Expressivos, resultado de uma pesquisa prazerosa nas letras da MPB, nas literaturas, poemas e nas histórias em quadrinhos. Esta obra está dividida em três partes: Primeira Parte, Segunda Parte e Adendo. A Primeira Parte reúne os vocábulos gerais que estão registrados nos dicionários convencionais como onomatopeia ou vocábulo expressivo, inclusive os que estão registrados como “prov.” (provavelmente) e “talvez” pelos autores e ainda os vocábulos onomatopaicos registrados como tal por autores de literaturas, livros diversos e letras da MPB. A Segunda Parte reúne os vocábulos que são muito parecidos com a onomatopeia ou com o vocábulo expressivo, mas não estão assinalados como tal nos dicionários convencionais, ou porque são de origem desconhecida ou porque são de origem estrangeira (no caso da onomatopeia, pois o vocábulo expressivo é somente da Língua Portuguesa). O Adendo apresenta vocábulos comuns que não são onomatopeias, entretanto, são usados como tal; e alguns caracteres usados especificamente nos gibis e histórias em quadrinhos.

Sobre a forma como Fontella escreveu seu livro. O enredo riquíssimo, as digressões são de rara beleza, diria que são várias obras em uma só, pois o modo como ele conduz sua história, como distribui de forma justa e generosa a importância dos seus personagens, isto só os grandes escritores clássicos como Tolstói e García Márquez foram capazes de fazer. Cito como exemplo, as obras: Guerra e paz e Cem anos de solidão. Fontella nos conta sua história principal, a saga de Rosalino, com as delinquências de Pedro Lemes, as aventuras de Caru, o romance entre Ana Clara e Santiago, tudo ele faz para que o leitor não se canse, e com coragem e esperança avance até o fim, para saber tudo que pretende nos contar de forma clara e verdadeira. O livro, embora seja uma ficção, nos convence de que se trata de obra biográfica, contudo seu narrador se faz presente, onisciente, seus olhos não deixam escapar nenhum detalhe da vida de suas grandes e importantes personagens. Sobre seu herói, o Santiago, este é um homem de grandes virtudes e poucos defeitos. Talvez seja esta a lição principal que Fontella pretende nos apresenta, que seu herói pode ser de fato um homem de virtudes supra-humanas, daqueles homens que ainda acreditam na humanidade, na bondade dos afetos, pois isto nos é revelado pela forma poética como Santiago trata seu irmão, sempre disposto a perdoar seus grandes desvios de conduta, acreditando que a generosidade e o amor fraternal podem transformar qualquer espírito errante.
