O que sobrevive é torturado pelo gordo e pelo magro carecas, para descobrir a sua identidade, se é o pai verdadeiro de Dorbel: Gamel ou Máximus. Morre o piloto e pai Ralf em um acidente com seu jato. Durante o velório sem defunto, Brisco teve, após outro desmaio, um contado mais íntimo com Amanda, uma relação “lingüística”. No Domingo sagrado da seita para adoração dos deuses astronautas, reis do universo, o pianista Máximus é sacrificado pela espada “ninja” de Romildo, o Homem Vestido de Sangue. Na delegacia ocorre o massacre dos agentes, com exceção do delegado Pontes. Brisco caminha desolado pelo seu fracasso na captura dos assassinos (o gordo careca e o careca magro). Mas no caminho, em uma rua de casas velha, o triste e fracassado Brisco descobre um menino correndo. É o menino Dorbel. O feliz e competente investigador persegue-o, esperando a recompensa da fama. Entra na mesma casa velha e abandonada que Dorbel. E é lá dentro que tudo se transforma.
