Destarte, Stephen Hawking, em seu recente livro The Grand Design, afirma que não há necessidade da hipótese de Deus para explicar o universo, visto ser necessária, tão somente, a Teoria da Relatividade, especialmente no que respeita à Força de Gravidade, e da Mecânica Quântica. O Autor deste livro demonstra, fundamentado em exímios cientistas, como Fred Hoyle (astrônomo inglês da Universidade de Cambrigde, Inglaterra e dos observatórios do monte Wilson e do monte Palomar, EUA); bem assim no físico brasileiro Mário Novello (em 2004 recebeu na França o título de Doutor Honoris Causa da Universidade de Lyon), que o universo É ETERNO, ou seja, o universo sempre existiu e sempre existirá, porém passa por fases de contração (colapsante, grande esmagamento, Big Crunch,) e de expansão (explosão, Big Bang), que duram dezenas de bilhões de anos. – O Big Bang atual deu-se há cerca de 13,7 bilhões de anos. Concernentemente à origem da vida, Merecem destaques as experiências dos catedráticos da Universidade de Chicago, Stanley Miller (1930-2007) e Harold C. Urey (1893-1981 - Nobel de Química em 1934), realizadas em laboratório, em 1953, com aparelho em forma de alambique, que comprovaram a teoria do russo Alexandre Oparim (1894-1980), formulada em 1924, e, independentemente em 1929, pelo inglês J. B. S. Haldane (1892-1964), segundo a qual a atmosfera primitiva do planeta Terra era composta por: amônia (NH3 ), metano (CH4 ) hidrogênio (H2 ) e vapor d’água (H2O ); e que, expostos a relâmpagos (descargas elétricas) e raios gamas, estes gases e compostos teriam reagido, originando aminoácidos que se combinaram e formaram proteínas. Tal experimento foi publicado em maio de 1953 pela revista “Science”, e teve grande repercussão no meio científico e religioso, e foi chamado de Experimento de Urey-Miller , conhecido, também como Sopa Orgânica , da qual teriam evoluído as primitivas formas de vida, que teriam sido enriquecidas por esporos de vida advindos de outros sistemas solares, no interior de cometas que se chocaram com a Terra (origem da água), teoria esta chamada de Panspermia, defendida por diversos cientistas eminentes. Relativamente à origem do homem, demonstra com fundamento na Paleontologia, Arqueologia e Antropologia, que o homem e os macacos têm como ancestral o pliopiteco, primata que viveu há 20 milhões de anos; destarte, o porquê o homem tornou-se bípede, após descer das árvores devida a uma mudança climática na África, e como desenvolveu o cérebro, após a descoberta do fogo e sua utilização para o cozimento dos alimentos, com um melhor aproveitamento de suas calorias – somente o cérebro consume 35 % das energias alimentícias...
