In den unterschiedlichsten Schriften nimmt er Bezug auf die Lehre vom dreieinen Gott. Diese Arbeit befaßt sich vor allem mit den relevanten Textpassagen in der Religionsphilosophie und der Enzyklopädie. Es erscheint vielleicht auf den ersten Blick verwunderlich, warum ausgerechnet der Trinitätsgedanke für Hegel von so großem Interesse ist. Handelt es sich hier nicht um ein Vorstellungsrelikt der christlichen Dogmatik? Es muß hier jedoch von vornherein unterschieden werden zwischen christlicher Lehre und Hegels Begriff der Dreieinigkeit. Zwar versteht sich Hegel grundsätzlich als Philosoph des Christentums (in seiner lutherischen Prägung). Doch muß beachtet werden, daß Hegel nicht als Scholastiker die Lehren des Christentums beweisen, sondern ihren vernünftigen Inhalt in die Sprache der Philosophie übersetzen will. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es daher, zu zeigen, welchen philosophischen Gehalt Hegel der Trinitätslehre abgewinnen kann. Ein Vergleich der christlichen Dogmatik mit Hegels Konzeption erscheint mir im Rahmen dieser philosophischen Betrachtung wenig fruchtbar. Einzig der Unterschied von dreipersonaler und triadischer Struktur soll hier behandelt werden. Die Pointe des Trinitätsgedankens ist es, Gott als Geist zu begreifen: "der Inhalt der christlichen Religion ist, Gott als Geist zu erkennen zu geben" (10.29 f.). Sofern Gott als Geist verstanden wird, läßt dies nach Hegel auch grundsätzlich die Möglichkeit nach Wissen von Gott zu, da ein geistiger Gott sich vor allem offenbaren oder manifestieren muß "Es liegt wesentlich im Begriffe der wahrhaften Religion, d.i. derjenigen, deren Inhalt der absolute Geist ist, daß sie geoffenbart und zwar
