In Christ in the Passover, Ceil and Moishe Rosen explore the meaning behind the different elements of the feast such as the bitter herbs, salty water, a sweet apple mixture, and the shankbone of a lamb. This book invites you to enter the celebration of Passover, rich with history and significance for both Jew and Gentile. God wasn't finished working in the lives of His people after the waters of the Red Sea parted. Both past and future deliverance are celebrated in this solemn and joyful feast. Through Christ in the Passover, you’ll trace God’s involvement through the history of this holy day—from the first Passover, all the way to the modern Seder. And in the revised editions of this inviting book, the authors show you how the death and resurrection of Jesus the Messiah are forever interwoven with the Passover and its symbolism. In Christ in the Feast of Pentecost, this engrossing book will quickly capture your attention as you realize the excitement leading up to this festive occasion and the richness it will bring to your understanding of both the Old and New Testament references. The authors treat us to the sense of anticipation that "cannot be overstated" as their insightful account of traditions leading up to this holiday unfolds...a boy's first haircut, bonfires, sweet treats, artful paper cutting, firstfruits. Shavnot will lead believers in Jesus into greater understanding of the significance of the omer, the waiting period, which foreshadows our watching for His return and gives further meaning to our work of building His kingdom. In Christ in the Feast of Tabernacles, David Brickner will captivate you with the rich imagery of this great festival. From the feast's origins of being celebrated with temporary shelters to modern-day observances--and even its meaning for heaven--you'll be enriched by this fascinating account.

The Passover is a well-known Jewish holiday and time of remembrance of Israel's history of enslavement by the Egyptians. Each year at Passover, Jews worldwide celebrate God's spectacular deliverance of the nation of Israel from slavery in Egypt. But did you know that Apostle Paul tells Christians to also keep and observe the yearly Feast of Passover; and calls Jesus Christ our Passover Lamb? This often forgotten instruction given by Apostle Paul to the church has resulted in the blessing of observing the Passover to be lost to many Christians today. In this book you will clearly see how the Lord planned for this time of remembrance to not only be observed by Jews; but also to be a unique time of remembrance for Christians also seated at the Passover table. This book explains not only why Paul instructs the church to observe Passover every year; but how you as a Christian can actually conduct an orderly, biblical, step by step Passover observance in your home with family and friends or with your church. The Passover: Order of Service for Christians, completes a powerful three part series on Passover; helping Christians to recapture for themselves the blessing of Passover. You'll find this series to be useful to you year after year.

In his latest blockbuster book, Steve Munsey explores why the Jewish people have celebrated the Passover and the other six feast annually since the time of Moses, over 3,000 years ago. Even a first-time reader of the Old Testament cannot help but notice that the seven feasts given by God to the children of Israel were uniquely meaningful. These were God's own holy days, and specific instructions were given. The first was Passover, the foundational feast. Those who correctly observed this feast received supernatural blessings.

At her first Passover Seder with John's Jewish family in 1976, Christie had a divine encounter that took her completely by surprise. She found Jesus hidden in an ancient ceremony within the Passover called "Yahatz", or "breaking" a matzo cracker called, the "afikoman". She asked Him, "What are You doing in this Jewish thing?" He answered, "All the feasts are about Me. Christianity is Jewish." After that night, with an insatiable hunger to know Jesus, she began her long journey of looking for the revelation of Jesus and God's heart in all the Biblical feasts. While her first book, Finding the Afikoman: encountering Jesus in the spring feasts, focused on the first coming of Jesus; this second book will take you on a journey with Christie through the fall feasts and Jesus' return to the earth. As in her first book, Christie will continue to share personal stories and encounters, mostly from her journals that span over four decades. Her discoveries will broaden your understanding of scripture from their Jewish perspective, and reveal to you the family and culture that Romans 11 says that you have been grafted into. What is Christie's conclusion about the feasts? "They are all about a wedding." The spring feasts begin with the courtship between Jesus and His Bride and end with a betrothal. The fall feasts begin with the consummation of His wedding and end in a glorious wedding feast! Christie's prayer is that, in reading this book, you will realize that you are part of the greatest love story ever told!

Feasts In John written by Michael A. Daise and has been published by Mohr Siebeck this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2007 with Religion categories.

In this work Michael A. Daise broaches the question of the rationale lying behind the six feasts mentioned in the Gospel of John. He argues that, in an earlier recension of the Fourth Gospel, those feasts were sequenced into a single, liturgical year and, as such, furnished temporal momentum for the concurrent motif of Jesus' 'hour'. After reviewing the feasts as they appear in the narrative, then critiquing the major theories proposed for their purpose, the author presents his key premise that the Passover at John 6:4 is to be read not as a regular Passover, observed on 14 Nisan (first month of the Jewish calendar), but as the 'Second Passover' of Numbers 9:9-14, observed on 14 Iyyar (second month of the Jewish calendar). The law of "hadash" for barley (6:9) requires a date for chapter 6 after the regular Passover; the Exodus manna episode (Exodus 16), on which John 6 largely turns, dates to 15 Iyyar; the contingent character of the Second Passover explains Jesus' absence from Jerusalem in John 6; and, with John 5 and 6 reversed, the chronology of John 2:13-6:71 coheres. On such a reading, the feasts of the entire Fourth Gospel unfold within a single, liturgical year: Passover (2:13), Second Passover (6:4), the unnamed feast/Pentecost? (5:1), Tabernacles (7:2), the Dedication (10:22-23) and Passover (11:55). Inasmuch as this scheme brings chronological design to chapters 2-12, and inasmuch as those same chapters also chronicle the imminent arrival of Jesus' "hour" (2:4; 12:23), an overarching purpose for the feasts emerges; namely, to serve the motif of Jesus' "hour" by marking the movement of time toward its arrival.
