L'économie slovaque a relativement bien résisté à la crise énergétique, mais la croissance s'est ralentie dans un contexte d'inflation élevée, d'affaiblissement de la demande extérieure et de resserrement des conditions financières. La pandémie et la crise énergétique ont détérioré les finances publiques ; un effort constant d’assainissement budgétaire est désormais nécessaire pour reconstituer les réserves budgétaires et améliorer la viabilité à long terme des finances publiques face au vieillissement rapide de la population. Soutenir la convergence économique et faciliter un changement structurel inclusif nécessite d’améliorer l'offre de compétences à tous les stades du cycle d'apprentissage, de stimuler la capacité d'innovation nationale et d’améliorer l'environnement des entreprises. Une tarification plus cohérente du carbone dans l'ensemble de l'économie et des incitations plus fortes en faveur des investissements verts et de l'innovation rendraient la croissance plus durable. L'amélioration de l'accessibilité au logement nécessite des réformes structurelles pour améliorer l'efficacité du marché du logement, des réformes de l'impôt foncier et un soutien ciblé aux ménages vulnérables.
