My name is Janice Bomar Crutcher. I have been feeding Mac and Gracie over 2 years. Sometimes twice a day. They know their names. I call them to come and feed. I was inspired to write this when I discovered that Mac had one bad wing and could not fly. I was his only source of food. So many days I felt so sad because he was so lonely. It just broke my heart, especially the way the other geese treated him for being different. Then one day Gracie appeared. They were bullied by the other Canadian geese because they were different. I want to produce a children’s book to explain about bullying. With this being a big problem with our children today. To let them know it is ok to be different and not let anyone bully them. They are not alone. It is in our society today and to show them it happens in the animal species also. I have never done anything like this before. I went to the library and researched layouts of children’s books. There was one layout I liked. It had the writing on the right pages and the left pages were the illustrations. So much to learn about writing a book. I just want to relay the message about bullying. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Janice Bomar Crutcher * Main email: [email protected] Email: [email protected] Cell: (731) 336-4494

The Royal Game Of The Goose written by Adrian Seville and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016 with Antiques & Collectibles categories.

"Numerous illustrations in color and black and white. Preface by former Grolier Club president William H. Helfand and introductory essays by Adrian Seville, followed by a catalogue of 71 games on show at the Club, February 24-May 14, 2016. Includes bibliography and index. "The Royal Game of the Goose" dates from medieval times. It is the simplest of games: throw the dice to race to the end of the spiral track. No choice of move, no demonstration of skill. Yet this game has spawned thousands of variants, has influenced early American board games, and is still going strong in Europe. The exhibition, based on Adrian Seville's collection in London, brings together 70 of these remarkable games. They are not primarily aimed at children, though some are educational, including the finely-printed games for the aristocratic cadets of 17th and 18th century France. Others are definitely for adults, including a polemical game on a religious heresy that still has power to shock by its imagery. Here too are games for politics, advertising - and just sheer family fun. One group of Goose Games shows how America was viewed from across the pond, including a 17th century game that depicts unique images of Native Americans. And, at the end of the 19th century, Jules Verne published a novel which describes a fantastical Goose Game in which the players travel across America to win a legacy from a Chicago millionaire. The final section invites you to try your luck in progressing from Errand Boy to "respected Banker and a good citizen." -- description from Oak Knoll Books.

There's a pond near the authors' West Ocean City, Maryland house where one morning they saw a goose limping, his one leg, twisted. Great gaggles of geese came and went daily on their autumn travels south, and try as he did, not one would allow this special goose to join their flock. For a time, he remained on the pond where his only friends were a duck and her ducklings. As we watched this special goose that we came to call, Gary, we couldn't help but to note the similarities between his struggles to fit in and present-day discrimination issues where being different too often means being excluded. One morning, the ducks were gone, and a few days later so too was Gary. For two years we wondered whatever happened to him until one misty morning we heard a flock of geese overhead and then watched as they gracefully glided onto the pond. And as they came ashore, we saw a goose struggling to walk. It was Gary! He was back, and now, was just another member of the flock. We decided to write a children's story about how inclusion champions exclusion; about a special goose who just wanted to fit in, and how, in the end, Gary the goose belonged.
