An Introduction To Nonlinear Analysis And Fixed Point Theory written by Hemant Kumar Pathak and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-05-19 with Mathematics categories.

This book systematically introduces the theory of nonlinear analysis, providing an overview of topics such as geometry of Banach spaces, differential calculus in Banach spaces, monotone operators, and fixed point theorems. It also discusses degree theory, nonlinear matrix equations, control theory, differential and integral equations, and inclusions. The book presents surjectivity theorems, variational inequalities, stochastic game theory and mathematical biology, along with a large number of applications of these theories in various other disciplines. Nonlinear analysis is characterised by its applications in numerous interdisciplinary fields, ranging from engineering to space science, hydromechanics to astrophysics, chemistry to biology, theoretical mechanics to biomechanics and economics to stochastic game theory. Organised into ten chapters, the book shows the elegance of the subject and its deep-rooted concepts and techniques, which provide the tools for developing more realistic and accurate models for a variety of phenomena encountered in diverse applied fields. It is intended for graduate and undergraduate students of mathematics and engineering who are familiar with discrete mathematical structures, differential and integral equations, operator theory, measure theory, Banach and Hilbert spaces, locally convex topological vector spaces, and linear functional analysis.

Ideal spaces are a very general class of normed spaces of measurable functions, which includes e.g. Lebesgue and Orlicz spaces. Their most important application is in functional analysis in the theory of (usual and partial) integral and integro-differential equations. The book is a rather complete and self-contained introduction into the general theory of ideal spaces. Some emphasis is put on spaces of vector-valued functions and on the constructive viewpoint of the theory (without the axiom of choice). The reader should have basic knowledge in functional analysis and measure theory.

Nonlinear optical interaction of laser fields with matter provide powerful spectroscopic tools for the understanding of microscopic interactions and dynamic processes. This volume provides a systematic account of a wide class of nonlinear spectroscopic techniques, in time domain and frequency domain, for researchers and graduate students in the field. Current active research areas such as ultrafast time-domain techniques, the interplay of phase coherence in the matter and the coherence properties of the radiation field, experiments involving phase-controlled pulse sequences, and cooperative effects in nanostructures are emphasized. Nonlinear Spectral Theory written by Jürgen Appell and has been published by Walter de Gruyter this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2004 with Mathematics categories.

In view of the eminent importance of spectral theory of linear operators in many fields of mathematics and physics, it is not surprising that various attempts have been made to define and study spectra also for nonlinear operators. This book provides a comprehensive and self-contained treatment of the theory, methods, and applications of nonlinear spectral theory. The first chapter briefly recalls the definition and properties of the spectrum and several subspectra for bounded linear operators. Then some numerical characteristics for nonlinear operators are introduced which are useful for describing those classes of operators for which there exists a spectral theory. Since spectral values are closely related to solvability results for operator equations, various conditions for the local or global invertibility of a nonlinear operator are collected in the third chapter. The following two chapters are concerned with spectra for certain classes of continuous, Lipschitz continuous, or differentiable operators. These spectra, however, simply adapt the corresponding definitions from the linear theory which somehow restricts their applicability. Other spectra which are defined in a completely different way, but seem to have useful applications, are defined and studied in the following four chapters. The remaining three chapters are more application-oriented and deal with nonlinear eigenvalue problems, numerical ranges, and selected applications to nonlinear problems. The only prerequisite for understanding this book is a modest background in functional analysis and operator theory. It is addressed to non-specialists who want to get an idea of the development of spectral theory for nonlinear operators in the last 30 years, as well as a glimpse of the diversity of the directions in which current research is moving.
