“You’re listening to Delilah.” Delilah, the most listened-to woman on American radio, has distinguished herself as the “Queen of Sappy Love Songs” and America’s ultimate romance guru. But Delilah’s life off-air is all the more extraordinary—a life full of trials, forgiveness, faith, and adventure. In One Heart at a Time, Delilah’s heartfelt account of her own story reveals what shaped the voice that 9 million listeners know and love. Today, Delilah is the founder of an NGO called Point Hope, the owner of a 55-acre working farm, and an inductee of the National Radio Hall of Fame. But to achieve this, she often had to pave her own way. Disowned by her father, divorced, and fired from a dozen jobs over the years, Delilah pushed forward through family addiction and devastating loss, through glass ceilings and red tape. Her consistent goal to help those in need took her everywhere from the streets of Philadelphia to refugee camps in Ghana. Along the way, Delilah was blessed by thirteen children—ten of them adopted. Though many of them contend with special needs and the forever effects of a broken foster care system, her children have been able to transform their own remarkable lessons into guiding lights for other kids in need. Just as Delilah has done. One Heart at a Time exposes the real woman behind the microphone. In her easy-going style and characteristic, beloved voice, Delilah tells her deeply moving life story as the series of miracles it is.

A personal account of the Courtney family and the Preemptive Love Coalition, as they help children obtain lifesaving surgeries in Iraq using one simple but powerful tool: a love that strikes first. In the middle of the Iraq War, Jeremy and Jessica Courtney found themselves with their two children caught up in the turmoil, just hoping to make a difference. After an encounter with a father whose little girl was dying from a heart defect, they began to investigate options for helping and learned that untold thousands of children across Iraq were in similar need, waiting in line for heart surgery in a country without a qualified heart surgeon. With the help of their closest friends, they dived in to save the lives of as many as they could, but sending children abroad proved to be expensive and cumbersome, and it failed to make an impact on the systemic needs of Iraqi hospitals—the place where these children really should be saved. Despite fatwas, death threats, bombings, imprisonments, and intense living conditions, Jeremy and his team persevered to overcome years of hostilities and distrust in an effort to eradicate the backlog of thousands upon thousands of Iraqi children waiting in line for much-needed heart surgery. “This true story of people coming together to live the doctrine of 'love first, ask questions later' by building bridges and saving lives is powerfully inspiring, touching, and, unfortunately, urgently relevant” (Publishers Weekly). “Courtney’s moving story gives us some of the best news to come out of Iraq in ages” (Los Angeles Times).

How did the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee break open the caste system in the American South between 1960 and 1965? In this innovative study, Wesley Hogan explores what SNCC accomplished and, more important, how it fostered significant social change in such a short time. She offers new insights into the internal dynamics of SNCC as well as the workings of the larger civil rights and Black Power movement of which it was a part. As Hogan chronicles, the members of SNCC created some of the civil rights movement's boldest experiments in freedom, including the sit-ins of 1960, the rejuvenated Freedom Rides of 1961, and grassroots democracy projects in Georgia and Mississippi. She highlights several key players--including Charles Sherrod, Bob Moses, and Fannie Lou Hamer--as innovators of grassroots activism and democratic practice. Breaking new ground, Hogan shows how SNCC laid the foundation for the emergence of the New Left and created new definitions of political leadership during the civil rights and Vietnam eras. She traces the ways other social movements--such as Black Power, women's liberation, and the antiwar movement--adapted practices developed within SNCC to apply to their particular causes. Many Minds, One Heart ultimately reframes the movement and asks us to look anew at where America stands on justice and equality today.

Living the Christian life is not easy, especially in today’s culture. To be who and do what God commands, Christians need to recapture the miraculous. Unfortunately, miracles have been left either with cable TV faith healers or tour guides in the Holy Land. That has to change, because it’s by seeing what God does that we discover who He is. And knowing who He is and what He does will change who we are and what we do. Pastor Gregg Matte believes that the seven “I AM” statements and the seven miracles recorded in the Gospel of John can give believers a framework for living God’s will. In I AM Changes Who i Am, readers will explore what Jesus says and does and find out what that means for their walk with Him.

This captivating book intertwines two powerful stories of survival, faith, and transformation. In the first story, A Stroke in Time Memoir, we follow a courageous educator who, while returning home from her graduate course in screenwriting at the New York Institute of Technology in New York City, survives a life-changing accident on the New Jersey Turnpike. In gratitude for her survival, she vows to honor God by dedicating her life to His purpose. This story is a testament to resilience and the power of faith. The second story, LAMB O.G. A Walk – Through – Life Story in Honor of God, introduces a lamb named Lamb O.G., who stumbles from a Christmas manger set and embarks on a spiritual journey. Nicknamed the “Old Blessed One,” he faces a fight for power against an evil ram, ultimately embracing a role as a heroic faith leader in a story of redemption and hope. The story brings a unique perspective to the themes of sacrifice, resilience and faith. Together, these stories highlight the strength found in vulnerability and the power of God in overcoming life’s challenges. They emphasize the transformative impact of near-death experiences, showing how adversity can inspire a renewed commitment to family and purpose. Through her journey, the author honors her promise to God, finding new meaning and fulfillment as she finally writes “A Stroke in Time” which was the title of her incomplete screenplay. These stories are a tribute to the miracle that saved her life and the faith that sustained her.
