Organophosphorus Monomers and Polymers is the first attempt at a generalization and systemization of existent knowledge of the methods of synthesis and the basic properties of monomers and polymers of organophosphorus compounds, and also of their fields of application. It contains valuable reference material, collated in tables (physical constants of the monomers, properties of the polymers and copolymers, etc.). The literature used by the author has covered journals, patents and books up to 1958, and in some cases more recent results are included. The monomers and polymers are tabulated according to the particular class of phosphorus-containing compounds to which they belong: acids of phosphorus, their derivatives, phosphines, polymers and co-polymers of unsaturated esters of acids of phosphorus, etc. Groups of monofunctional unsaturated phosphorus-containing compounds (acids, acid chlorides, amides, etc.) are listed in the order of: (a) the distance of the multiple bonds from the phosphorus atom, and (b) the number of multiple bonds. Within each group, the unsaturated substances are listed from simple to complex according to the rules laid down in The Chemist's Handbook. The book is intended for scientists, research workers, engineers, and technologists working on the preparation, manipulation, and investigation of monomers and high molecular weight compounds, and also for students studying related branches of chemistry.

Reactivity of P-H Group of Phosphorus Based Compounds bridges the gap between inorganic and organic phosphorus compounds, providing a basis to explore the myriad possibilities for synthesis of novel low and high molecular phosphorus-containing compounds. It covers well-documented reactions in detail, including: tautomerization, oxidation, reduction, alkylation, oxidation coupling, addition reaction to: carbon-carbon multiple bonds, Schiff base, isocyanates, nitriles, epoxides; addition to carbonyl group, Kabachnik- Fields reaction, cross-coupling reaction and more. In an accessible style complete with synthetic routes and figures, the resource then covers the reactivity of multiple P-H group members: phosphines, phosphine oxides, hypophosphorus acid, H-phosphinic acids and polys(alkylene H-phosphonate). This valuable coverage supports the advancement of research and applications in this area for scientists solving a scientific problem or starting a variety of new projects, such as a new reaction for the synthesis of biologically active compounds, new methods of polymer synthesis or a new methodology for polymer modification. Describes the diverse reactivity of the phosphorus-hydrogen group, perhaps the most powerful in organic chemistry Includes practical information for the synthesis of catalysts, biologically active substances, flame retardants, advance materials and polymer materials Offers a visually-accessible guide to important reactions by an internationally recognized chemist

Poly(alkylene H-phosphonate)s and poly(alkylene phosphate)s are promising, biodegradable, water soluble, new polymer-carriers of drugs. Nucleoside H-phosphonates seem to be the most attractive candidates as starting materials in the chemical synthesis of DNA and RNA fragments. The 5-hydrogen phosphonate-3-azido-2,3-dideoxythimidine is one of the most significant anti-HIV prodrug, which is currently in clinical trials. P Chapters review the synthesis; physical and spectral properties (SUP1/SUPH, SUP13/SUPC, SUP31/SUPP and SUP17/SUPO NMR data); characteristic reactions; important classes of compounds based on these esters of H-phosphonic acid; their application as physiologically active substances, flame retardants, catalysts, heat and light stabilizers, lubricants, scale inhibitors, polymer-carriers of drugs; preparation of H-phosphonate diesters and general procedures for conducting the most important reactions.-

Intelligent Polymers For Nanomedicine And Biotechnologies written by Magdalena Aflori and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-08-14 with Medical categories.

Almost all synthetic materials over time induce some level of inflammation and fibrosis. Therefore, even though the successes of biomaterials science in producing acceptable solutions to the problem of biocompatibility have been remarkable, there remains enormous opportunity for improvement. The goal is the development of intelligent materials that replicate and mimic the ability of tissues and biological materials to adapt and renew. This book describes the synthesis and the analysis of new smart polymeric materials and their practical implications in nanomedicine and biotechnology. It offers a comprehensive overview, gathering recent and innovative research on multiple aspects within the field of smart polymeric materials that offer new perspectives in developing current advanced biotechnologies. The text contains both experimental and theoretical issues that reflect the impact of the materials characteristics in target applications. It deals with recent advances in the design of new polymeric materials for advanced applications but also on the study of their structure-properties relationship in order to move from completely inert, static structures to flexible ones capable to respond to environmental changes.

Polymer Syntheses, Volume I presents detailed laboratory instructions for the preparation of polymers by different functional group classes. This book provides the laboratory procedures for the preparation of polymers containing phosphorus in various oxidation states. Organized into 15 chapters, this volume begins with an overview of some selected preparative methods for carrying out the major methods of polymerization in the laboratory. This text then examines the synthesis of phosphonitrilic polymers. Other chapters consider the synthesis of peroxide and hydroperoxide free radical initiators. This book discusses as well the principles involved in the preparation of emulsion polymers, which are applicable to the preparation of polymers of a wide variety of vinyl monomers and many copolymerizations. The final chapter deals with the chemistry of organometallic and organometalloid peroxides. This book is a valuable resource for chemists involved in the designing of phosphorus polymers to meet fire retardant requirements of various products.
