Der 1935 erstmals vergebene "Westfälische Literaturpreis" ging an die bekennende Nationalsozialistin Josefa Berens-Totenohl (1891-1969). Sie hatte schon 1931 eine Aufnahme in die NSDAP beantragt und war Verfasserin eines Bestsellerromans, dessen erster Teil "Der Femhof" von 1934 bis 1961 insgesamt eine Druckauflage von 280.000 Exemplaren erzielen konnte. Das Gedenken an diese einstmals in ganz Deutschland bekannte Autorin, die mit einem quasi religiösen Credo die "Treue zum Führer" beschwor, hat im Sauerland wie bei keiner anderen Persönlichkeit des öffentlichen Lebens aus der Zeit des "Dritten Reiches" zu heftigen Kontroversen geführt. Die sauerländische Mundartdichterin Christine Koch (1869-1951) wurde von Augustin Wibbelt als Lyrikerin sehr geschätzt und zählt zu den wenigen bekannten Frauen in der niederdeutschen Literaturgeschichte. Durch den hier vorgelegten Band wird erstmalig eine repräsentative Auswahl ihrer Gedichte für münsterländische Leserinnen und Leser erschlossen. Die Mundart des Sauerlandes wirkt aufgrund der zahlreichen Doppelselbstlaute und anderer Eigentümlichkeiten auf viele Liebhaber des Plattdeutschen fremd. Über die münsterländischen Fassungen kann Christine Kochs Werk heute auch in anderen niederdeutschen Sprachlandschaften viel leichter vermittelt werden. Die Übertragungen in das sogenannte "Klaiplatt" des Kernmünsterlandes stammen von Paul Baumann aus Greven. Er ist Mitglied der Augustin Wibbelt-Gesellschaft und hat seit 2008 schon sechszehn Werke mit Mundarttexten herausgegeben (u.a. eigene plattdeutsche Übersetzungen der Psalmen und des Neuen Testaments). Die Edition wird vorgelegt in Kooperation mit dem Christine Koch-Mundartarchiv am Museum Eslohe (www.sauerlandmundart.de) und enthält ein ideologiekritisches Nachwort wider das leere "Heimat-Gerede" der Rechten.

According to current deabtes, ’individualization’ has frequently been proposed as the conceptual counterpart to ’globalization’. It has often seemed that nothing would be left once these processes have fully unfolded, other than individual human atoms dispersed on a globe without any political, economic or cultural structures.
