La strada condotta negli anni sul tema dell’accessibilità fino alle sollecitazioni del Design for all, le convenzioni internazionali (UN, UNESCO, ONU) e il quadro normativo più volte affinato nel contesto europeo o italiano, hanno spesso costruito l’illusione che questo bastasse a garantire la piena partecipazione di tutti. Il presente, invece, ancora ci interroga e si apre a nuove letture che intendono l’inclusività nella cornice più ampia della costruzione di un senso di appartenenza, del benessere dell’individuo e della collettività (Agenda 2030). In questo contesto, i due volumi curati sul tema dell’accessibilità, di cui il presente è il primo, mettono a sistema risultati di ricerca, politiche gestionali, esperienze didattiche, buone pratiche, linguaggi secondo quattro temi trasversali: - L’accesso alla conoscenza attraverso politiche inclusive - La cultura del progetto nella trasformazione dello spazio fisico - L’uso di tecnologie per le fragilità e la definizione di linguaggi multimediali - Esperienze a confronto per la costruzione di Comunità di Pratiche (Étienne Wenger). Il primo volume cura l’accessibilità nell’ambito del patrimonio culturale, tangibile e intangibile, mostrando riflessioni, progetti, applicazioni di normative da parte di studiosi di diverse discipline che attraverso il loro operare delineano sia il consolidamento di processi avviati, sia nuovi orizzonti inclusivi. Avviare una conoscenza approfondita del complesso mondo degli archivi di architettura, delle loro declinazioni e del loro ruolo culturale è lo scopo della raccolta dei saggi contenuti nel volume. Esito di due seminari “Gli archivi di architettura nel XXI secolo. I luoghi delle idee e delle testimonianze” che si sono svolti tra maggio e giugno 2021 e febbraio e giugno 2022 presso l’Università degli Studi Roma Tre, Dipartimento di Architettura, a cura di L. Farroni, M. Beccu e M. Faienza, ma ampliato nei testi e arricchito da ulteriori interventi, il volume permette di comprendere quali siano alcune delle maggiori istituzioni dedicate alla conservazione e alla catalogazione dei progetti di architettura, ed affronta diverse tematiche dal punto di vista degli archivisti e da quello degli architetti. Inoltre, approfondisce, con struttura rigorosamente scientifica, esperienze specifiche, sperimentazioni d’uso di tecnologie digitali, ricerche su singoli architetti ed il patrimonio culturale grafico, a volte conservato in luoghi diversi. Il quadro che emerge è la rete esistente tra diversi fondi, lo stato della loro digitalizzazione, l’interpretazione e descrizione del patrimonio grafico e le forme possibili di comunicazione. Il volume si offre come un primo prodotto di una ricerca volta a delineare uno stato dell’arte del lavoro svolto per gli archivi e negli archivi a sottolineare l’importanza della memoria conservata per la conoscenza delle vicende relative alla trasformazione delle culture, del territorio e del costruito. Dovrebbe, inoltre, far emergere la vastità delle risorse esistenti, delle catalogazioni possibili e della ricchezza e potenzialità contenute nelle raccolte documentarie.
