Consumer Behavior Over The Life Course written by George P. Moschis and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-01-31 with Business & Economics categories.

This book examines consumer behavior using the “life course” paradigm, a multidisciplinary framework for studying people's lives, structural contexts, and social change. It contributes to marketing research by providing new insights into the study of consumer behavior and illustrating how to apply the life course paradigm’s concepts and theoretical perspectives to study consumer topics in an innovative way. Although a growing number of marketing researchers, either implicitly or explicitly, subscribe to life course perspectives for studying a variety of consumer behaviors, their efforts have been limited due to a lack of theories and methods that would help them study consumers over the lifecycle. When studying consumers over their lifespan, researchers examine differences in the consumer behaviors of various age groups (e.g., children, baby boomers, elderly, etc.) or family life stages (e.g., bachelors, full nesters, empty nesters, etc.), inferring that consumer behavior changes over time or linking consumption behaviors to previous experiences and future expectations. Such efforts, however, have yet to benefit from an interdisciplinary research approach. This book fills this gap in consumer research by informing readers about the differences between some of the most commonly used models for studying consumers over their lifespan and the life course paradigm, and providing implications for research, public policy, and marketing practice. Presenting applications of the life course approach in such research topics as decision making, maladaptive behaviors (e.g., compulsive buying, binge eating), consumer well-being, and cognitive decline, this book is beneficial for students, scholars, professors, practitioners, and policy makers in consumer behavior, consumer research, consumer psychology, and marketing research.

Standardized Ileal Amino Acid Digestibility And Basal Endogenous Losses Of Amino Acids In Different Genotypes Of Rye And Triticale Fed To Growing Pigs written by Elisa Strang and has been published by Cuvillier Verlag this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-06-01 with Science categories.

Cereal grains, such as rye and triticale are a major source of energy in pig nutrition. The crude protein (CP) content in cereal grains is rather low compared to protein ingredients such as soybean meal. However, costs and availability of soybean meal are strongly correlated with the price development of agricultural commodities on the world market. Therefore, swine producers will make increasing efforts to use protein from locally produced cereal grains more efficiently to reduce feed costs. Measurements of apparent (AID) and standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of CP and AA are frequently used to estimate the amounts of absorbable AA from the diet which are used for pigs’ metabolic processes. However, until now there is limited data on SID of CP and AA in rye and triticale, particularly in new genotypes. Therefore, one objective of the present work was to determine the variation in nutritional composition and SID of CP and AA of 8 currently available rye and 8 triticale genotypes. Standardized ileal digestibility of CP and most AA between the 8 assayed genotypes of both rye and triticale did not differ. Furthermore, average SID values of CP and AA of both rye and triticale in the present experiment were lower when compared to values of rye and triticale published in current feed tables. Thus, future research should clarify, whether these differences in comparison to feed tables are caused by experimental conditions or reflect a consistent decrease that need to be accounted for in feed tables.

This book provides a detailed analysis of the complicated relations between Iran and its Arab neighbours. Arab perceptions of Iran, its regional policies and role in the Arab region, have never been more complicated than today. How is one to make sense of the increasingly complex and at times tense relationship between Iran and its Arab neighbours? Given the strategic significance of this sub-region and the importance of relations between its states to international security, this edited volume systematically accounts for each Arab neighbour’s perception, policies and approach towards the Islamic republic, for the first time providing a clear and detailed comparative analysis of these relationships. This book, bringing together a group of leading scholars of the region, not only provides a clear lens for the policy community through which to gauge the causes of change and the reasons for continuity in relations, but also offers an invaluable tool for scholars of the wider region and the growing community of researchers focusing on this sub-region.

In this age when we are witnessing a veritable explosion in new modalities in diagnos tic imaging we continue to have a great need for detailed studies of the vascularity of the brain in patients who have all types of cerebral vascular disease. Much of the understanding of cerebral vascular occlusive lesions which we developed in the last two decades was based on our ability to demonstrate the vessels that were affected. Much experimental work in animals had been done where major cerebral vessels were obstructed and the effects of these obstructions on the brain observed pathologically. However, it was not until cerebral angiography could be performed with the detail that became possible in the decades of the '60 's and subsequently that we could begin to understand the relationship of the obstructed vessels observed angiographically to the clinical findings. In addition, much physiologic information was obtained. For instance, the concept ofluxury perfusion which is used to describe non-nutritional flow through the tissues was observed first angiographically although the term was not used until LASSEN described it as a pathophysiological phenomenon observed during cerebral blood flow studies with radioactive isotopes. The concept of embolic occlusions of the cerebral vessels as against thrombosis was clarified and the relative frequency of thrombosis versus embolism was better understood. The concept of collateral circulation of the brain through so-called meningeal end-to end arterial anastomoses was vastly better understood when serial angiography in obstructive cerebral vascular disease was carried out with increasing frequency.

This book, the seventh in the series 'Research and Perspectives in Neuroscience', contains the procedings of a meeting that was held in Paris on October14, 1996. The conference consisted of invited papers and poster presentations. The invited papers, included in this volume, were on cell proliferation prior to neuronal migration, on cellular and molecular factors characteristic of neuronal migration, and on postmigrational neuronal and axonal plasticity. There was a section devoted to disorders of neuronal migration and plasticity and the genetics of some developmental disorders. Great strides have been made in this relatively young branch of modern neuroscience.
