Many times, we confuse love with lust and lust with love. These two are very powerful words but have two different meanings. The Holy Bible gives us a great description of both love and lust. Hearing the word "lust," most of us assume that it is related to "sexual desires." Yes, of course, sexual desires are included in the lust of the flesh, but it isn't the only thing. The lust of the flesh is the desire of sin. In Galatians 5:19-21, Paul talks about the works of the flesh. He gave us a few examples like adultery, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, jealousy, self-ambition, envy, murderers, and many other unclean spirits. This is why Jesus encourages us to walk in The Spirit. And when we walk in The Spirit, we won't try to please our flesh; instead, we'll put our flesh under subjection. Walking in the Spirit comes with great benefits. For example, having everlasting joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We as humans are looking for all these great things but can't receive them because pleasing our flesh gives us temporary satisfaction that we'll enjoy only for a moment. But walking in The Spirit gives us something that will last forever, which is Eternal Life. When we walk in The Spirit, He guides us on how to walk in love if we submit to The Holy Spirit's will. We know that love is the greatest gift of all, better than any spiritual gift and it endures all things.
