The Heroides, or Letters of Heroines, is a collection of twenty-one fictional letters composed by the famous Augustan poet Ovid (43 BC-AD 17/18). "The first fifteen letters of Ovid's Heroides were addressed by mythical heroines to their faithless lovers. But the Heroides 16 the concept changes: the last six poems consist of three pairs, a male lover's letter to his beloved and her reply.
