But she was already the queen of brave Ratnasen, ruler of Chittor. In an unfolding drama of lust and treachery, Ratnasen’s band of Rajput warriors displayed the outstanding courage for which they were rightly famous. And Padmini showed the world what love and honour mean to a woman.

Padmini Of Malwa The Autobiography Of Rani Ruupmati written by Priyadarshi Thakur Khayal and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-06 with Fiction categories.

Description In the pages of this book, Rani Ruupmati, the Queen of Malwa, the legendary beauty men fought wars for, narrates everything that history books leave out. Through fading memories of her mother and subsequent abandonment, she reveals the lost years of her childhood. We then see her growing up among strangers in a desolate fortress, trying her best to figure out friend from foe. The entry of Baz, future Sultan of Malwa, comes as a welcome change in her life as their love for each other is matched only by their passion for music. But they have enemies. And their beautiful dream must come to an end. Padmini of Malwa isn't, however, just the 'autobiography' of an enigmatic character from the past. As Ruupmati chronicles the events, big and small, that mark her short life, an enduring tale of love also becomes a riveting account of a conflict that was personal, religious, and political in equal measure.

Rani Padmini Of Chittore A Historical Romance written by Aanald Webb and has been published by Reliance Publishing House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with Historical fiction, Indic (English) categories.

In the pages have been brought together two historical figures, whose factes in intertwined at many points, but who in life, if we can credit Rajput tradition, came face to face once only in a mirror. Whether or not this story as a whole can properly be termed a historical romance, the author, leaves for others to decide. Sultan Ala-ud-din Rani Padmini, her husband Rawul Rattan Singh and many others figuring in the tale, all undoubtedly lived and had, reality. Chittore was certainly sacked by Ala-ud-din and Padmini did immolate herself by fire to avoid falling into his hands. Equally established are the death, in the final phase of the siege, of Rattan Singh and of the escape of Ajey Singh to carry on the royal line.

Religion And Rajput Women written by Lindsey Harlan and has been published by Univ of California Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1992-01-01 with Religion categories.

What is the relationship between caste and gender in the narratives of Rajput woman? During a year and a half of fieldwork in Rajasthan, a parched land dominated by the great Indian Desert, Lindsey Harlan interviewed more than a hundred women from all levels of Rajput society. She wanted to understand why certain religious practices were so important to Rajput women, and how they justified these to themselves. During the course of her interviews, the women described their religious practices--chief among them the worship of the family kuldevi (the goddess who exemplifies the ideal wife by staving off sickness, poverty, and infertility) and the veneration of satimatas (women who have immolated themselves on their husband's funeral pyre). As the women discussed these rituals, many of them also told Harlan religious myths and stories, drawing parallels between their behavior and that of various Indian heroines. These narratives and the role they play in the women's self-perception are the fascinating and enlightening subject of this book.
