Interventional Management Of Head And Face Pain written by Samer N. Narouze and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-07-16 with Medical categories.

From the Foreword, by Stewart J. Tepper, MD: “Dr. Samer Narouze was the first Pain Management anesthesiologist specialist in the US to become Board-certified in Headache Medicine by the United Council of Neurologic Subspecialists (UCNS). It is therefore fitting that he decided to put together a textbook on blocks, interventions, injections, and neuromodulation possibilities in this integrated interdisciplinary area of treatment for head and facial pain... “This constellation of authors and topics should offer a comprehensive roadmap for interventions to contemplate beyond conventional medications in both primary and secondary head and face pain disorders. The chapters are precise, concise, and immensely readable, and I am honored to have been offered the chance to introduce them and encourage my colleagues to read them.” This is the first book on interventional management of intractable, medically resistant head and face pain. It is edited and written by world-class leaders in headache medicine and features practical presentations of the entire spectrum of procedures, from simple to complex. Designed to help shorten the learning curve of practitioners who are beginning to use interventional headache procedures, it provides guidance in identifying patients who are appropriate candidates for this approach and includes a unique compilation of outcomes-based algorithms for different headache and face pain syndromes. Neurologists, anesthesiologists, pain physicians, physiatrists, neurosurgeons, and interventional radiologists are the intended audience.

Headache And Facial Pain written by Lawrence Newman and has been published by Oxford University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022 with Medical categories.

In this new edition of Headache and Facial Pain in the What Do I Do Now? series, the authors have added cases dealing with issues that were not included in the first edition, eliminated several chapters that were no longer topical or in which recommendations were not current, and updated the rest. The book continues to simulate the curbside consultation in our selection of 37 cases about headache and facial pain. Each case poses an important question to be discussed and each are addressed, much as a consultant would do over the phone or in the hallway, using current evidence and experienced-based information. We have divided this volume into four sections that cover the typical ground for head/face pain consultation: Section 1, Diagnostic Questions; Section 2, Treatment Questions; Section 3, Questions Related to Special Populations; and Section 4 Prognostic, Social, and Legal Issues. Diagnostic reasoning is presented along the lines of the International Classification of Headache Disorders, third edition (ICHD-III). Additionally, recommendations for adding or modifying new treatment modalities (pharmacologic and devices) that have been approved since publication of the first edition have been incorporated based on updates from the AHS consensus statement. A list of key clinical points again appears at the end of each case discussion, followed by a list of suggested articles or chapters for those interested in doing further reading on the subject.
