Christians believe that the week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday represents the last week of Jesus Christ's earthly ministry. As Easter celebrates the occurrences leading up to Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, which are seen as the foundation of the Christian religion, it is a crucial day for Christians. This time period officially begins on Palm Sunday, which commemorates Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem and the people who greeted him there by waving palm branches and screaming "Hosanna!" It is a sad day that helps Christians get ready for the coming events. It is also referred to as the Sunday of the Passion. The days that follow are referred to as "Holy Week," when numerous churches hold special services and celebrate customs like the Last Supper, the Stations of the Cross, and the washing of the feet. The Thursday before Easter Sunday is marked as Maundy Thursday to remember the Last Supper that Jesus had with his followers before his crucifixion. The holy day of fasting and penance known as Good Friday, which occurs the Friday before Easter Sunday, honors the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Several churches arrange special services or processions to mark the anniversary as it is a day of contemplation and sadness. Easter Sunday, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, concludes this time frame. Christians all across the world commemorate this happy day with church services, feasts, and the giving and receiving of Easter greetings and presents. Easter is marked by a number of customs, including the Easter egg hunt and the Easter bunny, both of which represent fresh life and rebirth. Ultimately, Christians view the week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday as having great spiritual value since it serves to remind people of the sacrifice that Jesus made on their behalf in order to be saved, as well as the hope that his resurrection offers for eternal life.

Dear people of God, please make out the time to be actively part of every rite and ceremony of this gracious season of Lent and holy week. Easter is the most solemn of the feasts of the church. The preparations for Easter begins on Ash Wednesday when all of us begin to reflect on the temptations, suffering and death of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Our Lord's entire life, especially his passion, would have made little or no meaning if there was no resurrection. Let us therefore, thank the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who raised him from death and made us partakers of the glory of his resurrection. At Lent and especially in the Holy week the Church offers us a very rich and spirit filled ceremony and expects us to participate actively, in the spirit of the Second Vatican Council. The holy week celebration requires that all of us, priests and the faithful alike, immerse ourselves in the paschal mystery that we celebrate. This we must do through simple acts of prayer, reflection, silence and a deep expression of religious piety. If we use this Holy week and Easter Manual to participate fully in this holy season. We will be in the full spirit of the season. The stations of the Cross, liturgy readings, prayers, Holy week ceremonies and gestures as laid out in the manual will afford every one of us the opportunity to triumphantly enter Jerusalem with Christ on Palm Sunday, partake in the last supper be arrested with Christ on Holy Thursday, scourged, crucified and die with Christ on Good Friday in order to RISE with him on Easter Sunday. The readings are in accordance with the Vatican II and it also contains daily Readings for Easter Octave. May the Risen Lord bless our Lenten observance with an eternal and glorious Easter

A Palm Sunday/Easter Story for All Ages The uniqueness of this book is that the Lord, through a message given to a church on a Palm Sunday, inspired it. The message is for all ages, but especially for the young. It is meant to provide a sense of being special to the Lord no matter the child's age or situation. It brings the child and parent into a bond, while telling the story of a Saviour who loves both of them. It helps take away the fear of death with the knowledge that Jesus has provided a Heaven. It shows that Jesus rewards us no matter how small the task may seem and that He never forgets to reward. The story is biblically correct in that Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem on that day. If we are to lift up any animal on Palm Sunday it should be not a rabbit but a donkey, which is a sign of meekness and peace. Born in a small community in southern Ohio, George William Ryan graduated with a degree in chemistry and biology. He worked in the plastics field for such companies as B.F. Goodrich Co., Chrysler Corporation and Occidental Petroleum before starting a consulting business in 1974. He is presently the owner of the Ryan Development Corporation, serves on several boards and is listed as an expert executive by the International Executive Service Core as well as in the Who's Who Registry of the Society of Plastics Engineers. His most important work is as a servant of God and the current president of the Missionary Evangelical Church of Christ.
