Vivekananda was a man with a great spiritual presence and tremendous intellect who was a tireless teacher and writer. He wrote poems and hymns in Bengali, English and Sanskrit, some of which are sung daily in Vedanta centre's worldwide. He was ahead of his time in encouraging women and Westerners to not only practice Vedanta, but to be leaders. Two examples are Sara Ellen Waldo who recorded and collected Swami's talks at Thousand Island Park and Margaret Noble, later known as Sister Nvidia, who devoted her life not only to Vedanta but also to the education of Indian girls.Supreme Devotion, in which forms and symbols fall off. One who has reached that cannot belong to any sect, for all sects are in him. To what shall he belong? For all churches and temples are in him. Where is the church big enough for him? Such a man cannot bind himself down to certain limited forms. Where is the limit for unlimited love, with which he has become one? In all religions which take up this ideal of love, we find the struggle to express it. Although we understand what this love means and see that everything in this world of affections and attractions is a manifestation of that Infinite Love, the expression of which has been attempted by sages and saints of different nations, yet we find them using all the powers of language, transfiguring even the most carnal expression into the divine.

Bhakti-Yoga is a real, genuine search after the Lord, a search beginning, continuing, and ending in love. One single moment of the madness of extreme love to God brings us eternal freedom. This love cannot be reduced to any earthly benefit, because so long as worldly desires last, that kind of love does not come. Bhakti is greater than karma, greater than Yoga, because these are intended for an object in view, while Bhakti is its own fruition, its own means and its own end. This edition includes the Swami's ten lectures on Bhakti Yoga, plus ten more on the Supreme Devotion called Para-Bhakti.

This is a comprehensive text on Bhakti Yoga (Yoga of Devotion). It covers all aspects of Bhakti Yoga with detailed guidelines for its practice. It is one of the four major paths for attaining the life’s goal of Self-realization or God-realization. Compared with the other paths, the practice of Bhakti Yoga is far simpler, less austere and more natural. Everyone may not have exceptional energy to practice Karma Yoga, or keen intellect for practicing Jnana Yoga, or one-pointed concentration for practicing Raja Yoga, but all have love in their hearts for practicing Bhakti. Therefore as the Divine Sage Narada states, Bhakti is the easiest of the spiritual paths. Though all the paths of Yoga lead to the same goal, Bhakti is considered to be superior to the other paths in some respects. In all other paths, there is the fear of a fall, but in Bhakti there is no such fear. The other paths are methods of practice and are needed as long as one has not realized the supreme. They only help the aspirants on their way to the goal. But supreme devotion (Para Bhakti) is, on the other hand, the goal in itself. Bhakti is both the means and the end. Supreme Devotion and God realization are identical. Bhakti is a living force in the spiritual life of the world. Throughout the ages many devotees have realized God by deep devotion and self Surrender.

Parabhakti written by Nome and has been published by Society of Abidance in Truth this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-10-25 with Religion categories.

These writings, by Nome, are an offering to Lord Siva, to Sadguru Ramana, and to all sages of the lineage of Advaita Vedanta. Upon reading this little book, the reader immediately will recognize that he or she is reading writings of both a devotional nature and writings expressive of jnana—Knowledge. This is Parabhakti—supreme devotion. The first part of this book is in seven chapters. The reader will note subtle differences among the chapters. The first and second chapters describe bhakti (devotion), while the third chapter describes the experience of the bhakta (devotee). The fourth chapter takes the bhakta deeper into jnana through the relationship with the Guru, while the fifth chapter speaks of continuous, absorbing devotion to God and Guru. The sixth describes the practice of the bhakta and the spiritual activities and attitudes with which a bhakta infuses his or her life, and the seventh describes absorption, through bhakti, in jnana. The second part of this book is in six chapters consisting of a collection of poetry: Chapter I, Namah Sivaya, presents short verses praising Lord Siva, while simultaneously expressing Knowledge of the Lord.Chapter II, In Praise of the One Like Space, is a poem that is descriptive of Absolute Being and praising that Absolute.Chapter III, Realize the One Like Space, is composed of verses that pose questions that, if asked, guide the bhakta to realize the One like space.Chapter IV, Space of Grace, is a set of verses descriptive of the One like space—a description of Grace.Chapter V, Within the One Like Space, features verses describing the experience of the space that is the One Absolute.Chapter VI, Gracious Inquiry, appears as both a solicitation for Grace and also Knowledge of the ever-presence of Grace through inquiry. If a person practices pure, ego-less jnana, bhakti is unavoidable. On the other hand, if a person practices pure, ego-less bhakti, jnana is surely inevitable. The glorious, lofty heights of devotion and Knowledge are expressed here in this little book, and the sages assure us that the identical experience is available to all. It is sincerely hoped that the reader experiences the vastness of parabhakti while deeply meditating on these writings and remains absorbed therein. To abide unmoving, without giving rise to illusion, free of attachment to the transient unreality, desireless and fearless, absorbed by the power of devotion that gives birth to Knowledge, in That, as That, is bhakti. ~ from the book Parabhakti

The Śāṇḍilya-bhakti-sūtra, compiled by Sage Śāṇḍilya, is an essential text in the bhakti tradition and Vaiṣṇavism at large. Its ontological exploration of bhakti helps the seeker map out the process by which bhakti emerges, grows and, ultimately, leads one to the absolute peak of spiritual experience. Given Sage Śāṇḍilya’s more pragmatic, philosophical leanings, Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s commentaries serve as a perfect balancing act. Focusing on the experiential and emotional dimensions of the sūtras, what we are left with is an impeccable combination of intellectual and experiential nourishment. The transcendent world of the Lord, of true love, and bliss is impossible for the mind to fully grasp, but this book aims to serve as a compass pointing in its direction. The journey will always be unique and ours to undertake, but the guidance and framework gifted to us by the joint efforts of Sage Śāṇḍilya and Paramahamsa Vishwananda will surely help make it as smooth a ride as it could ever possibly be.
