Arungpone lalu diasingkan ke Bantaeng dan La Tenritatta putranya yang masih belia diambil oleh Sultan Gowa sebagai tawanan politik. ia dipelihara oleh Karaeng Pattingalloang dengan kasih sayang tinggi dan diperlakukan sebagai putranya sendiri. Sultan tidak membedakan pengasuhan mereka dengan anak-anak istana lainnya. Hingga kerajaan lain menganggap bahwa Yusf dan La Tenritatta adalah Putra Mahkota Kerajaan Gowa. Anak-anak menikmati hari-harinya mengaji pada tuan guru Datuk sambil bermain dan menyusuri pantai selatan Gowa. Pergi ke istana Sultan Tua mendengar kisah negeri dongeng. Cinta Karaeng Nisak yang tumbuh dalam pengajian menjadi kenangan terindah. Diam-diam Fatimah menaruh kekaguman pada La Tenritatta atas kesabarannya mengawasi para tawanan perang. Namun hatinya luluh lantak ketika hubungan mereka tak direstui oleh sultan. Yusuf merantau ke Tanah Haram. Cinta sejati yang berlatar ketidakpastian silsilah terpaksa harus menanggung rindu berkepanjangan. Pernikahan megah abad ke-16 dilakukan diatas kapal Portugis. Dihadiri oleh raja-raja dari 72 Kerajaan dari Nusantara dan Eropa. La Tenritatta dan Fatimah pun harus berpisah karena perang. Sejak Sultan Muda mangkat, Arung Palakka memperdaya saudaranya. Belanda mulai merangsek masuk ke Makassar. Bersamaan di Banten, Syekh Yusuf pun harus berjuang membantu mertuanya (Sultan Banten) melawan penjajah. Makassar dan Banten di bumihanguskan oleh kompeni Belanda. Mereka semua mengerahkan kemampuan untuk membela tanah air. Dalam persembunyian dan tipu daya Belanda. Syekh Yusuf tertangkap dan menjadi tawanan perang. Di Makassar sultan harus mengalah dengan menandatangani perjanjian Bongayya lalu ditangkap dan dibawa ke Batavia. Bersamaan dengan sultan Banten tertangkap. Syekh Yusuf pun lalu diasingkan ke Tanjung Harapan. Di atas Bukit Pallantikan Arung Palakka mengusap air mata, mengelus pusara saudaranya. Perang yang memporak-porandakan persaudaraan, Keluarga, dan tanah air mereka hingga hanya menemukan penyesalan diatas pusara.

"Southeast Asia has long been connected by trade, religion and political links to the wider world across the Indian Ocean, and especially to the Middle East through the faith of Islam. However, little attention has been paid to the ties between Muslim Southeast Asia - encompassing the modern nations of Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore and the southern parts of Thailand and the Philippines - and the greatest Middle Eastern power, the Ottoman empire. The first direct political contact took place in the 16th century, when Ottoman records confirm that gunners and gunsmiths were sent to Aceh in Sumatra to help fight against the Portuguese domination of the pepper trade. In the intervening centuries, the main conduit for contact between was the annual Hajj pilgrimage, and many Malay pilgrims from Southeast Asia spent long periods of study in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, which were under Ottoman control from 1517 until the early 20th century. During the period of European colonial expansion in the 19th century, once again Malay states turned to Istanbul for help. It now appears that these demands for intervention from Southeast Asia may even have played an important role in the development of the Ottoman policy of Pan-Islamism, positioning the Ottoman emperor as Caliph and leader of Muslims worldwide and promoting Muslim solidarity. With the entrance of the European Union into the field of International Investment Law and Arbitration, a new specialist field of law, namely ‘European Investment Law and Arbitration’ is in the making.
