Skydivers usually exit the aircraft at a height of 13,000 feet (4000 meters) and free-fall for a time before opening their chute to slow their descent to a safe landing speed. If you are a little bit like me, you will be going to bed in the evenings thinking about where and when your next skydive will be, what is in store in the future, and who you'll meet along the way."I watched him strap on his harness and helmet, climb into the cockpit and, minutes later, a black dot falls off the wing two thousand feet above our field. At almost the same instant, a while streak behind him flowered out into the delicate wavering muslin of a parachute - a few gossamer yards grasping onto air and suspending below them, with invisible threads, a human life, and man who by stitches, cloth, and cord, had made himself a god of the sky for those immortal moments."- Charles LindberghGo ahead and get this Kindle edition by Lionel Paxton. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales."- Albert EinsteinFairytale Fantasy History:Fairy tales were originally a well-used form of adult entertainment that were re-told at social gatherings, in spinning rooms, fields, and other settings where adults met. It wasn't until the early 19th century that fairy tales were turned into children's stories.Giambattista Basile retold many fairy tales in the Pentamerone, an aristocratic frame story and aristocratic retellings. From there, the literary fairy tale was taken up by the French 'salon' writers of 17th century Paris and other writers who took up the folktales of their time and developed them into literary forms. The Grimm brothers, despite their intentions being to restore the tales they collected, also transformed the Märchen they collected into Kunstmärchen. These stories are not regarded as fantasies but as literary fairy tales, even retrospectively, but from this start, the fairy tale remained a literary form, and fairytale fantasies were an offshoot [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairytale_fantasy].Kindle edition by Lionel Paxton. "Good for children comfortable reading longer books on their own." For ages 8-12 years. Magali: a French marmot who joins her mountain mates on their crazy, nocturnal, sports adventures! Magali and Mishka found a farm high up in the mountain. They raced to the gate, scaled it, and pulled the lever. The farm animals stared at the little marmot and rabbit. Mishka waved. 'Hurry! The gate is open! Run!' Magali said, 'Quickly! Run! You're free!' One of the donkeys moved forward. 'What are you talking about, ''free?''' Magali said, 'We're helping you!' 'Helping us?' A fat duck waddled over. 'Helping us how?' 'Escape from prison!' said Mishka. 'Prison? Ha ha ha! You think we're in prison?' The duck flapped her wings. 'You think we don't know how to open that gate? You think I can't fly? This isn't prison. This is paradise!' Mishka scratched his head. 'Look, you best be going,' quacked the duck. 'This is no prison. We have free food, free lodging, and free para...' The farm animals gasped. They shook their heads at the duck. Hmmmm... the farm animals are guarding a big secret. Will Magali, Mishka and their mates (Henri Le Hare, F-F-Foxy, Little Foxy, Puppy Bébé, and Chamois Luc) find out what is going on in secret each night at the farm? A middle grade book series about unexpected friendships, trusting instinct, and learning independence! The books have British spelling. For ages 8 to 12 years old. Set in La Plagne, Savoie, French Alps. Each book can be read as an individual book or as part of the series. The series is available in English, French, Spanish + bilingual versions (English / français) (English / español). Question for the Author How did you come up with the character of Magali? 'You know, I really love the French Alps, and looking at all the animals that live in the mountains. I'm Australian, so I had never seen a marmot before moving to France. I worked one summer, for a kids' summer camp, and part of my job was to take the children out on walks. We would go looking for marmots, all of us being very quiet, secretly sneaking up to the holes in the ground, where the entrances to the marmot burrows were. Of course, we would make too much noise and the marmots would disappear into their underground tunnels, but sometimes we were lucky and able to take photos. I think their underground homes took over my imagination, and before you knew it, I had a whole chapter book in my head, with Magali as the principal character!'

When a pretty young woman comes to me for help in finding her father, I accept, even though I don't need the money. Seems like a simple case and maybe I'll even get the woman's number after this is over. But when it turns out that her father was kidnapped by a cult run by half-demon/half-human hybrids hellbent on reuniting the forces of Hell, I find myself racing against time to stop them before it's too late. Yet I might already be out of time to stop them.
