In Paradise, Stephen Gibson's fourth poetry collection, we are taken on a journey through history and myth, wars past and present, public discoveries and private loss. As the reader confronts past horrors and present truths as well as the speaker's personal ones (an abused mother, a shellshocked father), it becomes apparent that the paradise sought-not in the hereafter but in the here and now-lies just beyond reach. It all ends, suggest these verses, with the understanding that behind everything we find nothing more divine than the human.

Doors to Paradise: Poems for the Soul is Ajit Sripad Rao Nalkur's fourth book of poetry, and it follows his previously published trilogy on love. His poems are an invitation for our souls to discover what lies behind each door we encounter in life. The author experienced intense joy, peace, and freedom as he wrote these poems-emotions he hopes to share with all. The poems in this collection are arranged in chronological order and written in various rhyming styles. The poems were created as spontaneous outbursts of the soul, and in the reading of them, the author hopes that the reader's heart will similarly open and receive the emotions they convey. Like doorways into the author's soul, Doors to Paradise: Poems for the Soul reflects the peace and contentment in his life now. The Muse Forever poised on the brink of a poem, patiently waiting for the Muse to rise or fall from the skies, the poet's eye looks out onto the fields of paradise left vacant of her presence. He looks for her in his heart and sees that she indeed is the one thing he needs and wants; a window is flung open, a door beckons, the house of the soul welcomes him home ...

A world of poems as populous and diverse as it is ephemeral and evanescent, born of the world and of books and art in equal measure, yielding granite truths and feather truths of people's roller-coaster lives. The poet looks back, facing life and death and everything in between with equanimity, holding a steady hand to the quivering breast wherever there is breath. Published in The New Yorker, La Nouvelle Revue Française, and in nearly a hundred magazines and poetry journals from Los Angeles to Tokyo, from Lawrence, Kansas to Rome, Madrid, Paris, London, Beijing, and Bucharest, poems by Barry Gifford have been describing and changing our world for nearly half a century. Here in one volume for the first time is the poet's own choices from his nine previous collections, as well as a rich selection of new poems. Imagining Paradise sums up the tremendous achievement of an underground poet who lasted.

O Paradise written by William Trowbridge and has been published by University of Arkansas Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1995-07-01 with Poetry categories.

As Howard Nemerov has said in praise of William Trowbridge’s first poetry collection: “he is very much up on the peculiarities of our little world ... He is both funny and serious, seriously funny; probably the best, if not the only, way of dealing with the complex predicament.” Continuing in this third collection of poems to work in the realm of the serio-comic, Trowbridge explores other borderlands—between the tangible world and the intuitive one, between actuality and memory, between consciousness and unconsciousness, between self as flesh and blood and self as ghost. This is fast-faced, nervy poetry whose witty, vernacular language moves surprisingly toward transcendence.

A Paradise Of Poets written by Jerome Rothenberg and has been published by New Directions Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999 with Poetry categories.

A Paradise of Poets is Jerome Rothenberg's tenth book of poetry to be published by New Directions, beginning with his Poland/1931(1974). In considering the title of his newest collection, he says: "Writing poetry for me has always included an involvement with the life of poetry--& through that life an intensification, when it happened, of my involvement with the other life around me. In an earlier poem I spoke of this creating a paradise of poets ... I do not of course believe that such a paradise exists in any supernatural or mystical sense, but I have sometimes felt it come to life among my fellow poets and, even more, in writing--in the body of the poem." In Rothenberg's hands, the body of the poem is an extraordinarily malleable object. Collage, translation, even visual improvisation serve to open up his latest book to the presence of poets and artists he has known and to others, past and present, who he feels have somehow touched him, among them Nakahara Chuya, Jackson Mac Low, Pablo Picasso, Leonardo da Vinci, Federico Garcia Lorca, Kurt Schwitters, and Vitezslav Nezval. Kenneth Rexroth once commented: "Jerome Rothenberg is one of our truly great American poets who has returned U.S. poetry to the mainstream of international modern literature. No one has dug deeper into the roots of poetry." With A Paradise of Poets, it is clear that this evaluation is as fresh today as it was twenty-five years ago.
