Il volume raccoglie molteplici apporti su un tema di scottante attualità, quale la rigenerazione nel territorio della Campania. Gli Atti del Convegno, tenutosi il 21 marzo 2023 e promosso dal Distretto Rotary 2101, testimoniano l’importante ruolo dell’associazione nella comunità. Al centro del dibattito vi è il patrimonio culturale e naturale della nostra regione, il cui territorio è ricco di risorse, beni culturali e valori paesaggistici, ma anche molto fragile. Negli approcci sul futuro di tale patrimonio si confrontano le tesi di esperti, accademici, esponenti degli enti territoriali – molti soci dei Club Rotary del Distretto –, con apporti di tipo metodologico, ma anche esemplificazioni, buone pratiche e proposte. Nel volume si dibatte delle sfide della contemporaneità con nuovi approcci urbanistici per territori autorigenerativi, con un nuovo paradigma che veda nelle città storiche il motore per la crescita anche culturale del territorio. Al centro delle riflessioni vi sono il progetto di architettura, la mobilità quale fattore essenziale per la vivibilità e la qualità della vita, il piano di gestione del centro storico di Napoli Unesco, l’efficientamento energetico e la protezione sismica del costruito storico, nonché nuove forme di sperimentazione di amministrazione condivisa del patrimonio. La Campania presenta un territorio appenninico molto vulnerabile, con gravi fenomeni di abbandono dei centri storici interni: per contrastarlo occorrono soluzioni urgenti e innovative, ispirate a concetti di riequilibrio, con creazione di reti e circuiti sovracomunali di fruizione. Il tema della filiera delle costruzioni viene affrontato evidenziando, da un lato, i riflessi negativi di una inadeguata politica nazionale sui Bonus edilizi, dall’altro, le potenzialità di un settore che rappresenta un importante motore di sviluppo socioeconomico, proiettato verso la digitalizzazione e l’innovazione. Per quanto concerne il patrimonio Unesco, vengono delineate le prospettive di valorizzazione, con riferimento al sito archeologico di Pompei e al centro storico di Napoli. Particolare attenzione è posta alla salvaguardia dell’ambiente: ci si riferisce agli effetti dei cambiamenti climatici, alla difesa del paesaggio costiero, alla risorsa mare, ai problemi scottanti del recupero di Bagnoli, nonché al paesaggio agrario e al verde urbano. Un volume, dunque, che si presenta particolarmente significativo e di notevole interesse per la straordinaria ricchezza di contenuti multidisciplinari, per la rilevanza scientifica e divulgativa.

La riflessione al centro del Volume prende le mosse dal convincimento teorico-metodologico e sperimentale che riconosce nella costruzione dello spazio pubblico e, più in generale della città pubblica, il riferimento strutturante ai fini della messa in campo di una strategia di rigenerazione urbana e di riequilibrio territoriale per la città contemporanea, offrendosi, quindi, come occasione di approfondimento di alcuni nodi tematici che si configurano quali significativi ambiti di innovazione disciplinare. Nel contesto delle politiche europee e della nuova programmazione comunitaria, e in coerenza con il carattere di integrazione della rigenerazione urbana, la riflessione pone, quindi, all’attenzione della ricerca e della sperimentazione l’esigenza di una convergenza intersettoriale e interistituzionale tra tutte le politiche che attengono al governo del territorio, puntando a coniugare le istanze di realizzazione di un nuovo welfare urbano con quelle di valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale, dando priorità alla messa in rete dei beni comuni identitari, sui quali rifondare la struttura della città pubblica, la qualità dell’ambiente urbano e il senso stesso dell’uso collettivo degli spazi.

Il ruolo del patrimonio culturale e del paesaggio per la costruzione dell'identità territoriale è stato a lungo indagato dalle scienze umane che hanno chiarito le matrici di assetti consolidati, le valenze di componenti naturali e antropiche, i processi di attribuzione e arricchimento dei significati, le ragioni della conservazione e della valorizzazione. Superata questa fase, è necessario interrogarsi sulle modalità di gestione del "capitale culturale" affinché le potenzialità individuate possano esprimersi nei processi di pianificazione e nella programmazione economica; la riflessione scientifica deve, pertanto, focalizzarsi sulle ricadute applicative di impostazioni teorico-metodologiche solide e mature. In tale dibattito si inserisce il volume Patrimonio culturale e paesaggio: un approccio di filiera per la progettualità territoriale che propone un iter di ricerca basato sulla trasversalità e l'integrazione di competenze eterogenee, raccordate nelle fasi della "filiera culturale", al fine di superare la settorialità delle analisi e degli interventi. Per rispondere agli obiettivi della ricerca di base e di quella applicata, le scienze geografiche sono coinvolte in tutto lo spettro degli interessi disciplinari, dalla riflessione sull'essenza del paesaggio ai sistemi più innovativi della rappresentazione cartografica, dall'indagine dei fattori di pressione antropica e di omologazione paesaggistica alle nuove forme di una competitività territoriale perseguita nelle logiche della governance e del distretto culturale. Come un poliedro, il paesaggio va osservato da diverse angolazioni e prospettive per coglierne la molteplicità degli aspetti secondo un approccio multi-qualitativo (multi-quality approach). Analizzando mediante logiche di "filiera" il patrimonio culturale e ambientale, è possibile definire il quadro teorico-operativo a cui raccordare un articolato panel di competenze che, pur maturate negli ambiti specialistici della ricerca, possono costruire un articolato percorso d'indagine territoriale.

Esso si pone nel solco di un rinnovato interesse per quest’area multilingue e multiculturale, ma affronta un tema inesplorato con l’obiettivo di dimostrare che questo può essere indagato con profitto. I contributi esaminano fonti di diverso tipo sulla base di un approccio pluridisciplinare. Alcuni di essi affrontano temi di ampio respiro, come la presenza del latino in contesti monastici o scolastici accanto a varietà locali, mentre altri trattano questioni circoscritte, come l’uso del latino in determinati ambienti o in specifici documenti. Tutti i contributi mostrano che il contatto tra lingue, scritture e culture ha assunto forme diverse a seconda di vari fattori./[English]: This volume is the first work devoted to the contacts between Latin and Coptic in late antique and Byzantine Egypt. It follows in the footsteps of a renewed interest in this multilingual and multicultural area, but it approaches an untapped theme aiming to show that it can profitably be explored. The papers examine different type of evidence on the basis of a multi-perspective approach. Some of them deal with wide-ranging issues, such as the presence of Latin in monastic or scholastic contexts alongside local varieties, some others deal with specific subjects, such as the use of Latin in a certain milieux or in specific documents. All papers show that the contact between languages, scripts and cultures took many forms depending on various factors.

This volume proposes a rich corpus of papers about the 'Other City', a subject only few times dealt with, but worthy of all our attention: it imposes itself on the scene of international modern and contemporary historiography for its undeniable topicality. Throughout history, the city has always had to deal with social 'otherness', i.e. with class privileges and, consequently, with discrimination and marginalization of minorities, of the less well-off, of foreigners, in short, with the differences in status, culture, religion. So that the urban fabric has ended up structuring itself also in function of those inequalities, as well as of the strategic places for the exercise of power, of the political, military or social control, of the spaces for imprisonment, for the sanitary isolation or for the 'temporary' remedy to the catastrophes. From the first portraits of cities, made and diffused at the beginning of the fifteenth century for political exaltation purposes or for religious propaganda and for devotional purposes, which often, through increasingly refined graphic techniques, distort or even deny the true urban image, we reach, at the dawn of contemporary history, the new meaning given by scientific topography and new methods of representation; these latter aimed at revealing the structure and the urban landscape in their objectivity, often unexpected for who had known the city through the filter of 'regime' iconography. The representation of the urban image still shows the contradictions of a community that sometimes includes and even exalts the diversities, other times rejects them, showing the unease of a difficult integration.
