Acción Cultural Española's fourth edition of the AC/E Digital Culture Annual Report follows an editorial policy of familiarising professionals of the culture sector with the main digital trends they need to be aware of over the coming years. Since 2015, a committee has been advising us on the choice of subjects and authors for the first part of the report. This year, a group of experts analyse issues such as content curation as a means of tackling digital overload, neuroscience applied to technology, the latest advances in artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and Big Data applied to culture, and the use of digital technology in music. RESUMEN: Se presenta el proyecto de creación del patrimonio digital de Castellón, llevado a cabo por la Biblioteca de la Universitat Jaume I. Su finalidad es poner en valor el patrimonio cultural de estas comarcas. El punto de partida es la cantidad de documentos, publicaciones, material arqueológico, obras de arte, objetos etnológicos, etc. de las comarcas de Castellón, que, a pesar de su importancia, por diversos motivos, son desconocidos y en consecuencia poco investigados. El contexto actual es favorable a la cultura open, accesible a todos, en cualquier momento y desde cualquier lugar: recomendaciones de la Comisión Europea en materia de digitalización y accesibilidad en línea del material cultural; la Universitat Jaume I es una universidad muy arraigada en su entorno, con estrechos vínculos con la sociedad castellonense; la Biblioteca cuenta con infraestructura y experiencia en la gestión de proyectos digitales y en abierto. Se explica cómo se está construyendo este patrimonio digital mediante microproyectos de digitalización y acceso abierto, basados en la cooperación entre instituciones. Se presentan los resultados ya visibles en el repositorio institucional: patrimonio arqueológico en Imágenes 3D, protocolos notariales del s. Las Humanidades Digitales son, sin más, las Humanidades de hoy. E l quehacer humanista ha devenido en labor interdisciplinar, multidisciplinar y pluridisciplinar. Profundizando en esta idea, reconocemos que la base de este nuevo medio y canal se sustenta, en gran medida, en la existencia del hipertexto, podríamos afirmar que la labor del humanista del siglo XXI es hiperdisciplinar, tomando prestado el prefijo del griego clásico ὑπέρ —híper— con el significado de ‘por encima de’, ‘más allá de’. Aceptamos, así, desde este punto de vista que cualquier trabajo de y en Humanidades va más allá de lo que tradicionalmente se ha considerado nuestra disciplina, y que se actualiza a través del diálogo entre lo científico y tecnológico y lo humanístico, como si existiera, en realidad, algo más humano que la propia técnica, τέχνη, que no es otra cosa que la habilidad para realizar un oficio. El nuestro, de este modo, bien podría ser el de tecnohumanistas, pero no por la necesidad de salvar lo que un día fue nuestro trabajo y que parece que se desdibuja hoy entre los dominios de la digitalización, sino por continuar con lo que siempre ha sido, que no es sino la materialización de la suma de las tres categorías del pensamiento humano que dibujó Aristóteles: ἐπιστήμη, epistḗmē, o conocimiento científico; δόξα, dóxa, u opinión, y τέχνη, téchne, o técnica. No cabe duda de que conocimiento científico, opinión y uso de la técnica son, y siempre lo han sido, el sujeto y el objeto de nuestra labor.

The scientific and technological advances that influence the protection of cultural heritage are developing at an ever-increasing pace. Systems to explore, research and analyse their materiality, to control the different scopes, or to represent and model them have reached an unprecedented dimension in recent decades. The Network of Science and Technology for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage aims to promote collaboration between the agents of these systems, in order to facilitate the sharing of experiences and to foster technology transfer, with the common goal of contributing to the conservation of Cultural Heritage. In the context of the TechnoHeritage Network, the fourth edition of the International Congress on Science and Technology for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage was held March 26-30, 2019, in Seville, Spain. This Congress was an international meeting of researchers and specialists from multiple areas, whose line of work is the knowledge and conservation of Cultural Heritage.
