Introduction To Urban Water Distribution Second Edition written by Nemanja Trifunovic and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-08-31 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Introduction to Urban Water Distribution comprises the core training material used in the Master of Science programme in Urban Water and Sanitation at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education. Participants in this programme are professionals working in the water and sanitation sector from over forty, predominantly developing, countries from all parts of the world. Outside this diverse audience, the most appropriate readers are those who know little or nothing about the subject. However, experts dealing with advanced problems can also use it as a refresher of their knowledge, as well as the teachers in this field may like to use some of the contents in their educational programmes. The general focus in the book is on understanding the steady-state hydraulics that forms the basis of hydraulic design and computer modelling applied in water distribution. The main purpose of the workshop problems and three computer exercises is to develop a temporal and spatial perception of the main hydraulic parameters in the system for given layout and demand scenarios. Furthermore, the book contains a detailed discussion on water demand, which is a fundamental element of any network analysis, and general principles of network construction, operation and maintenance. The book includes nearly 700 illustrations and the accompanying electronic materials contain all the spreadsheet applications and the network model files used in solving the workshop problems and computer exercises. This book is the first volume of the Introduction to Urban Water Distribution, 2nd Edition set.

Modern Management Based On Big Data Ii And Machine Learning And Intelligent Systems Iii written by A.J. Tallón-Ballesteros and has been published by IOS Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-12-03 with Computers categories.

It is data that guides the path of applications, and Big Data technologies are enabling new paths which can deal with information in a reasonable time to arrive at an approximate solution, rather than a more exact result in an unacceptably long time. This can be particularly important when dealing with an urgent issue such as that of the COVID-19 pandemic. This book presents the proceedings of two conferences: MMBD 2021 and MLIS 2021. The MMBD conference deals with two main subjects; those of Big Data and Modern Management. The MLIS conference aims to provide a platform for knowledge exchange of the most recent scientific and technological advances in the field of machine learning and intelligent systems. Both conferences were originally scheduled to be held from 8-11 November 2021, in Quanzhou, China and Xiamen, China respectively. Both conferences were ultimately held fully online on the same dates, hosted by Huaqiao University in Quanzhou and Xiamen respectively. The book is in two parts, and contains a total of 78 papers (54 from MMBD2021 and 24 from MLIS2021) selected after rigorous review from a total of some 300 submissions. The reviewers bore in mind the breadth and depth of the research topics that fall within the scope of MMBD and MLIS, and selected the 78 most promising and FAIA mainstream-relevant contributions for inclusion in this two-part volume. All the papers present original ideas or results of general significance supported by clear reasoning, compelling evidence and rigorous methods.

Providing a comprehensive overview of various methods and applications in decision engineering, this book presents chapters written by a range experts in the field. It presents conceptual aspects of decision support applications in various areas including finance, vendor selection, construction, process management, water management and energy, agribusiness , production scheduling and control, and waste management. In addition to this, a special focus is given to methods of multi-criteria decision analysis. Decision making in organizations is a recurrent theme and is essential for business continuity. Managers from various fields including public, private, industrial, trading or service sectors are required to make decisions. Consequently managers need the support of these structured methods in order to engage in effective decision making. This book provides a valuable resource for graduate students, professors and researchers of decision analysis, multi-criteria decision analysis and group decision analysis. It is also intended for production engineers, civil engineers and engineering consultants.

This volume contains the papers presented at IALCCE2018, the Sixth International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE2018), held in Ghent, Belgium, October 28-31, 2018. It consists of a book of extended abstracts and a USB device with full papers including the Fazlur R. Khan lecture, 8 keynote lectures, and 390 technical papers from all over the world. Contributions relate to design, inspection, assessment, maintenance or optimization in the framework of life-cycle analysis of civil engineering structures and infrastructure systems. Life-cycle aspects that are developed and discussed range from structural safety and durability to sustainability, serviceability, robustness and resilience. Applications relate to buildings, bridges and viaducts, highways and runways, tunnels and underground structures, off-shore and marine structures, dams and hydraulic structures, prefabricated design, infrastructure systems, etc. During the IALCCE2018 conference a particular focus is put on the cross-fertilization between different sub-areas of expertise and the development of an overall vision for life-cycle analysis in civil engineering. The aim of the editors is to provide a valuable source of cutting edge information for anyone interested in life-cycle analysis and assessment in civil engineering, including researchers, practising engineers, consultants, contractors, decision makers and representatives from local authorities.
