Believers know that when we die we enter heaven and will spend eternity there with God and the saints who have gone before us. But what actually happens in heaven? What are we going to be doing there? Won't it get boring at some point? According to Scripture, a large part of our experience of heaven will be a continual revealing of God's glory. Not just his glory in the moment, but during all of time. The mysteries of providence, the hidden movements of God throughout history, and the forgotten and unnoted works of even the most obscure of God's people will be unveiled so that we can see how wise, loving, gracious, and powerful our God is. And though we will experience perfection in heaven, we will never be omniscient, which means we will always be learning more about God's glory, inspiring us to return joyful praise and thanksgiving. If your vision of heaven has been limited to clouds and harps and angels, it's time to expand that view with the truth found in this biblically based look at the afterlife.

Paul S Approach To The Cultural Conflict In Corinth written by Johannes Wessels and has been published by LIT Verlag Münster this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016 with History categories.
The problem of cultural conflict in congregations has been a serious challenge to the church throughout its history. Many approaches to tackling the problem of cultural intolerance and tensions have been quite pragmatic in nature, without the presence of a solid biblical foundation or pastoral model. In this book Paul's approach as a slave-leader, emptying himself in analogy of Christ's own kenosis, is thoroughly discussed and posed as a biblical approach and solution to handling this very complex and contentious issue in churches, especially in the context of Botswana. Dissertation. (Series: Theology in Africa, Vol. 7) [Subject: Religious Studies, Christanity Studies]

The Structure Of Second Corinthians written by Kei Hiramatsu and has been published by Bloomsbury Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-09-07 with Religion categories.
Hiramatsu Kei examines the literary structure of 2 Corinthians and how it can illuminate understanding of this Pauline letter and its theological message. He explores the theoretical foundations of Inductive Bible Study as an approach, which focuses on the meaning of biblical texts in their final form by incorporating insights from multifarious methodologies. Based on the final form of the letter and its compositional unity, he prioritizes the literary context as consequential evidence for interpretation. Hiramatsu argues that there are two major components of the literary structure: the division of the letter and the identification of major structural relationships within and between the divided parts. Thus, he proposes that 2 Corinthians consists of seven major segments which coherently develop Paul's discourse pertaining to ministry, and discusses the implications regarding his theology of theocentric ministry and that of weakness that arise from a literary investigation. Hiramatsu demonstrates that an inductive and integrative approach not only presents a more suitable and helpful literary structure for 2 Corinthians, but also illustrates the relevance of such study when seeking to gain understanding of the theological implications of the letter.

This package contains the complete two-volume set of First Corinthians and Second Corinthians from the MacArthur New Testament Commentary series. The MacArthur New Testament Commentary series continues to be one of today's top-selling commentary series. In First Corinthians and Second Corinthians, respected preacher and Bible teacher John MacArthur demonstrates how the Corinthian church required Paul's repeated care as the apostle sought to correct errors of unchristian practice, worship, and doctrine. Concerned with false apostles who were leading the church astray, Paul defended his own authority as God's apostle and sought reconciliation within the church. MacArthur explores these issues by giving a verse-by-verse analysis in context and providing points of application for passages, illuminating the biblical text in practical and relevant ways. Both volumes form yet another set of comprehensive and compelling commentaries in his New Testament series, and are a must-have for every pastor's library.

Paul's letter to the Corinthians provides an exclusive quick look into the social and political life of a young Christian congregation in a Greco-Roman environment during the early decades when Christianity was emerging. The letter provides a range and richness of information regarding the early church that is unparalleled by any other writing in the New Testament. Much effort has gone into reconstructing the Christian church at Corinth; more recently, attention has focused on the Corinthian congregation itself and its influence towards the community of the Roman Empire. The scholarly picture of the Corinthian community throughout the period of modern interpretation has been far from constant. It has been continually altered as interpretative fashions have changed.
