These incredible quests are true, often appearing surre-al, and interlace this book with unbelievable ventures rarely found in anymedia other than from the personal exploits of the heroes themselves. Theinspiring values these heroes employed to succeed in their noble pursuitsare most remarkable.I researched, discovered, and taught these heroic values in collegecourses for over a decade, and my students and I studied extensively theinspiring values used by magnificent people to guide their critical deci-sions. We did not study these same heroes when they were not performingat their best. This book is not a study of perfect heroes of peace-there are none.
