Pandemi covid-19 memang sebuah musibah yang mewabah hampir ke seluruh belahan dunia. Itu fakta yang tidak dapat dipungkiri. Di dunia pendidikan Indonesia, covid-19 telah mengubah dan merusak tatanan peri pembelajaran yang selama ini hampir sudah ‘terformat’ dengan ruang dan waktu. Hal yang sama terjadi di lembaga pendidikan SMP PGRI 1 Egon Waigete. Pembelajaran sering dilakukan di rumah sembari meningkatnya jumlah pasien aktif covid di nian Sikka. Frekuensi pertemuan dibatasi agar covid-19 tidak menjadi ancaman. Pendidik mengambil jarak dari peserta didik, sebaliknya peserta didik ‘seolah senang’ karena ‘merasa’ diliburkan dari aktivitas sekolah. Akibatnya, prestasi yang semula digaungkan untuk diraih akhirnya hilang bersama fenomena sang corona. Mengatasi kevakuman pembelajaran yang demikian, pihak sekolah memberikan tantangan menulis di facebook mengingat pada umumnya peserta didik sudah memiliki akun tersebut. Awalnya hanya sekedar iseng, tetapi lama kelamaan menjadi sebuah rutinitas. Ada banyak sekali puisi yang berseliweran di akun para peserta didik. Pihak sekolah mau tidak mau harus meresponnya lebih serius dan intens. Tulisan peserta didik dijadikan sebagai ajang lomba. Puisi dinilai, diedit, dan diminta untuk diperbaiki sesuai masukan para pendidik. Hal ini menjadi fenomena baru cara pembelajaran. Belajar tidak lagi melulu di dalam tembok (gedung sekolah), tetapi bisa beralih ke dunia maya. Belajar tidak harus pada jam sekolah, melainkan bisa sepanjang hari; siang dan malam. Belajar tidak harus bersama guru, tetapi juga bisa bersama orang tua dan tetangga. Belajar tidak melulu men-transfer pengetahuan, tetapi juga membentuk karakter dan membangun gagasan. Ini adalah sejarah baru di dunia pendidikan dan semuanya berkat covid-19.
