Menghadapi pandemi COVID-19 tentunya menjadi sebuah ujian bagi semua orang, terlebih bagi tenaga kesehatan. Kita tidak pernah menyangka bahwa penyakit yang berasal dari Wuhan, Cina, ini akan menjadi sebuah pandemi hanya dalam waktu 2 bulan sejak pertama kali dilaporkan. Peningkatan angka kasus dan kematian juga sangat tinggi termasuk di Indonesia. Hal seperti ini bukanlah hal yang mudah. Sebuah penyakit baru yang tidak pernah kita ketahui sebelumnya dan bahkan sudah hampir 1 tahun kita hadapi, namun masih banyak hal yang belum dapat kita pahami. Upaya untuk menegakkan diagnosis dengan cepat dan pasti 100% masih sangat sulit. Apalagi dari sisi terapi, hampir 1 tahun ini belum satu obat pun yang terbukti memberikan hasil yang menjanjikan. Obat-obatan baru terus diteliti namun masih belum memberikan hasil yang memuaskan. Untuk itu, salah satu langkah utama yang harus kita upayakan adalah mencegah penularan yang berlangsung cepat, terutama pada tenaga kesehatan. Hampir di seluruh dunia terdapat tenaga kesehatan yang gugur menghadapi penyakit ini, apalagi di indonesia dimana jumlah kematian dokter—nya merupakan yang tertinggi di dunia, belum termasuk tenaga kesehatan lain. Berbagai hal perlu dipersiapkan agar kita dapat menjalankan upaya pencegahan yang baik bagi tenaga kesehatan serta seluruh masyarakat. Sebagai upaya untuk saling bantu menghadapi COVID-19, dibutuhkan kolaborasi dari berbagai pihak, dibutuhkan pemahaman akan penyakit COVID-19, dan dibutuhkan persiapan yang cepat untuk menanggulanginya. Salah satu upaya yang kami lakukan adalah menyelenggarakan sebuah kegiatan berbagi pengalaman dalam penanganan COVID-19. Kami tidak ingin mengatakan bahwa ini adalah sebuah kegiatan untuk mengajarkan, melainkan suatu kegiatan untuk bertukar pengalaman. Tentu masih banyak kekurangan dari kegiatan ini, namun hal positif yang dibagi di dalamnya diharapkan dapat membawa kebaikan. Setiap penyakit yang baru dikenal akan membawa banyak hal yang belum terungkap. Banyak yang dipikirkan hari ini akan berbeda dengan yang akan terjadi kemudian. Setiap panduan dan penelitian akan menghadirkan hal baru yang mengubah panduan dan hasil penelitian lama. Panduan nasional COVID-19 sendiri hingga saat ini masih berupa dokumen yang terus berubah dan berkembang. Untuk itu, buku ini diberikan judul “pengalaman.” Buku ini adalah hasil sharing dari berbagai hal yang mugkin bisa kita pelajari dan bisa kita terapkan dalam mengahadapi pandemi COVID-19.
