Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh sebuah fenomena bahwa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar, guru dituntut harus bisa untuk dapat mengembangkan bahkan memajukan serta meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Karena selama ini siswa hanya diberi pembelajaran dengan metode yang monoton dan konvensional saja, sehingga berdampak dari hasil belajar siswa menurun. Menyikapi permasalahan tersebut perlu dikembangkan sebuah media pembelajaran yang tepat dan efektif. Media Audio visual sebagai salah satu media yang dapat menjadikan pembelajaran yang dilakukan oleh siswa akan lebih efektif dan menyenangkan karena siswa terlibat langsung dalam poses pembelajaran, sehingga diharapkan dengan adanya penerapan media audio visual dalam mata pelajaran Akidah Akhlak mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian selama dua siklus ini menunjukan bahwa hasil belajar siswa khususnya materi akhlak terpuji pada mata pelajaran akidah akhlak dalam penerapan Media Audio Visual, mengalami peningkatan terlihat dari rata-rata nilai sebelum melakukan penerapan adalah 57,45 dan setelah penerapan Audio Visual pada siklus I meningkat dengan rata-rata nilai 69,15 dan pada siklus II Mencapai 77,5. Maka, penggunaan Media Audio Visual dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Akidah Akhlak khususnya pada materi akhlak terpuji di SD Negeri 33 Lebong.
