Die Diskrepanz zwischen praktischer Relevanz und theoretischer Fragwürdigkeit des Konzepts Interkulturelle Kompetenz stellt den Ausgangspunkt dieses Bandes dar. Die Autorinnen und Autoren setzen sich aus unterschiedlichen (Fach-)Perspektiven mit den strittigen Diskursen, Theorien und Modellen auseinander: Es geht um eine grundlegende Reflexion des Konstrukts Interkulturelle Kompetenz und wie dieses im Theorie- und Praxisfeld Interkulturelle Kommunikation verhandelt wird.
