Negli ultimi anni dell’intensa e prolifica attività di scrittore e regista di Pier Paolo Pasolini, la dialettica fra passato e presente diviene drammatica: condanna i lineamenti della contemporaneità che continua a vivisezionare nei suoi scritti ma che rifiuta di filmare nel suo cinema. Ma a quale passato pensava Pasolini? Quali erano i connotati, anche fisici e concreti, del mondo che rimpiangeva così disperatamente? È probabile che le ragioni più profonde del perché il suo pensiero e la sua figura continuino ad avere una tormentata attualità anche a distanza di quarantasette anni dalla sua morte si celino proprio in questa dialettica fra nostalgia e condanna.
