Sen lisäksi Saision romaaneista kuusi on ollut Finlandia-palkintoehdokkaana. Heini Junkkaala (s. 1975) on palkittu näytelmäkirjailija, dramaturgi ja ohjaaja. Saisio ja Junkkaala tutustuivat Teatterikorkeakoulussa, jossa Saisio oli Junkkaalan professori. Myöhemmin heistä on tullut läheiset kollegat ja ystävät.
