AL LECTOR Este libro no es más que una recopilación de las pláticas que dimos el Sr. C. W. Leadbeater –actualmente Monseñor Leadbeater– y yo, sobre tres libros famosos; tres libros de tamaño pequeño, pero de gran contenido. Esperamos que este libro sea de utilidad para los aspirantes y para algunos que ya hayan trascendido ese grado, ya que los autores de estas pláticas eran de mayor edad que los oyentes, y contaban con mayor experiencia en la vida del discipulado. Esas pláticas no fueron dadas en un solo lugar; hablamos ante nuestros amigos en diversas ocasiones y lugares, principalmente en Adyar, Londres y Sídney. Un gran número de notas fueron tomadas por los oyentes. Estas se coleccionaron y se arreglaron; se condensó su contenido, eliminando todas las repeticiones. Desgraciadamente, las anotaciones que se hallaron sobre La Voz del Silencio, fragmento I, fueron muy pocas, por lo cual utilizamos algunos apuntes hechos en una clase que dio nuestro buen colega, el Sr. Ernest Wood, en Sídney, y las incorporamos con las pláticas de Monseñor Leadbeater en la sección correspondiente. De mis comentarios sobre ese libro no se encontraron anotaciones; aun cuando hablé mucho sobre el mismo, de esas conferencias mías nada se ha podido reconstruir. Ninguna de esas pláticas ha sido publicada con anterioridad, a excepción de algunas alocuciones realizadas por Monseñor Leadbeater ante un grupo selecto de estudiantes, sobre el libro A los pies del Maestro, con referencias incompletas de algunas de estas conferencias. Este libro no volverá ya a ser corregido; lo que hay en él de substancial encuentra aquí su lugar correspondiente y aparece cuidadosamente condensado y editado.
