The South Australian National Parks and Wildlife Service is responsible for managing over 200 reserves which together cover an area of more than four million hectares. There are four categories of reserves: National parks; conservation parks; recreation parks; and game reserves. A plan of management is a set of guidelines which identifies how a park is to be managed. It is the basic working document of the park manager and identifies the long-term direction in which the manager must head. The National Parks and Wildlife Service is providing citizens the opportunity to be involved in Reserve Management at the earliest possible stage in the planning process and would appreciate information on: History; visitor use; biology; geology; and management proposals. This brochure provides a list of parks considered to be of high priority for management planning and details on how to submit information.
