This unique collection introduces AI, Machine Learning (ML), and deep neural network technologies leading to scientific discovery from the datasets generated both by supercomputer simulation and by modern experimental facilities.Huge quantities of experimental data come from many sources — telescopes, satellites, gene sequencers, accelerators, and electron microscopes, including international facilities such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in Geneva and the ITER Tokamak in France. These sources generate many petabytes moving to exabytes of data per year. Extracting scientific insights from these data is a major challenge for scientists, for whom the latest AI developments will be essential. The timely handbook benefits professionals, researchers, academics, and students in all fields of science and engineering as well as AI, ML, and neural networks. Further, the vision evident in this book inspires all those who influence or are influenced by scientific progress.

The Agricultural industry is always at risk - crops are affected by weather, diseases and pests. When a global pandemic hits suddenly, it becomes very difficult to manage various processes because most are not digital. In parallel, the rapid increase in the population and urbanization, demands more food production on less land. Farming under the demand pressure by increasing input consumption, leads to increases costs and negative impacts to the environment such as decreasing soil fertility continuously over time. There is therefore the need to move beyond traditional farming. To produce more yield in the agricultural field, there is the need to dig deep into the technological field and apply sensors, Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics, cloud computing and machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) techniques. Better decision making, prediction and reliability depend upon high level of knowledge base and perceptions.

There has been growing academic interest in local food plants. This is a subject that lies at the frontiers of knowledge of various areas, such as environmental sciences, nutrition, public health, and humanities. To date, however, we do not have a book bringing these multi-disciplinary perspectives to bear on this complex field. This book presents the current state of knowledge on local Brazilian food plants through a multidisciplinary approach, including an overview of food plants in Brazil, as well as comprehensive nutritional data. It compiles basic theories on the interrelationship between biodiversity and food and nutrition security, as well as ethnobotanical knowledge of local Brazilian food plants. Additionally, this title provides various methods of learning and teaching the subject, including through social media, artificial intelligence, and through workshops, among others.
