Esta es la historia de un literato dominicano del g�nero poes�a, quien por inspiraci�n de Dios, por medio de las voces de los int�rpretes internacionales de la balada de los a�os 70 a los 2000, �ngela Carrasco y Jos� Luis Rodr�guez, (El Puma), ignorando el autor de que El Se�or le hab�a provisto del arte de las letras, quiso hacer algo que le identificara con ellos, pero que a la vez, le sumara a los aportes art�sticos que hab�an hecho por medio de sus canciones. Este escritor, en su af�n por conocer y hacerle llegar su trabajo a quienes les hab�an motivados, tuvo la oportunidad de tratar en persona a El Puma (1991) a quien le hace de su conocimiento las intenciones del mismo entreg�ndole 50 temas in�ditos, sin melod�as, pero que por la impresi�n y asombro del se�or Rodr�guez, hizo que �ste aceptara los temas, quedando comprometido, verbalmente, a seleccionar de estos temas y llevarlo al canto por medio de su voz. Desde entonces, perece ser espera infructuosa. Asimismo, en cuanto a la se�ora �ngela Carrasco, Norberto tuvo su mayor colaboraci�n y apoyo con la se�ora �ngela Rodr�guez viuda de Carrasco, madre de la int�rprete ante mencionada y por medio de ella y una de sus hijas, logra tratar en dos oportunidades y de manera personal (2007) y (2014) a Angelita Carrasco a quien le deja saber las intenciones de que conociera sus escritos y obtemperara llevarlo al canto por medio de su voz. De igual manera, la espera hasta la fecha, parece ser infructuosa. Ahora, el autor invita a todo el p�blico en general a conocer las historias del buen amor y la amiga desconocida... los cuales son, vivencias del autor en su entorno social y de su vida. Diez ediciones desde el a�o 2001 a la fecha, cinco obras, 360 poemas y 160 pensamientos es en resumen, la manera especial en que el Se�or le ha bendecido, am�n de las aceptaciones y rechazos que en la sociedad le ha tocado vivir.

Jonathan Cohen's translation of Poemas de buen amor... y a veces de fantasía shows another side entirely of Mir's work to that seen in Contracanto a Walt Whitman / Countersong to Walt Whitman: intensely political in the Countersong, sensual and erotic in Poems of Good Love. There is a challenge that the translator rises to in making English language poems that are truthful to the deliberately opaquer language of this collection in comparison to the communicative clarity of Mir's more overtly political collections. Here, Mir sets himself the task of writing about love in a way that is truthful to the Marxist historical materialism he embraced, in contrast to what he saw as the conventions of love poetry where love is seen as some kind of disembodied spiritual experience. As the introduction by Silvio Torres-Saillant makes clear, there were negatives as well as positives that followed from the task Mir set himself. It is obvious that fifty years ago (1969), feminism had not yet penetrated Mir's Latin American Marxism.
