Poems of Mourning and Healing Memory is a book that tells of the author’s coming to terms with the death of his parents. The book begins with the author’s father—and the author himself—dealing with the death of wife and mother. It continues with the author’s powerful encounter with his dying father, then proceeds with poems mourning his father’s death and its aftermath. The second half of the book contains poems which remember and honor significant people and experiences in the author’s life. As a pastoral psychotherapist, the author finds the Bible and spirituality to be major healing resources, along with memories of some key people he writes about who have helped him grow and heal in his life. What happens in writing is a mysterious and awesome thing, and the very process of remembering and writing these poems has helped the author mourn and find some healing. Perhaps these poems will trigger your own memories; resonate with various layers of your experiences; help you move through your own grief; and perhaps encourage you to do some writing of your own!

In Memory Of ... was written to encourage people who have lost someone or something that was precious to them. Loss can come in many forms. You can suffer a loss with a move, an illness, a loved one passing, or even ones youth departing from them. Bonnie has found that old memories wash over her at times when she is doing something completely unrelated to the particular memory that passes through her mind. She sets out, at those times, to capture the feeling that attached itself to her. She thinks it is important to pay attention to those unexpected moments of inspirational thoughts. By putting those feelings down on paper, Bonnie can safely put that memory away and access it anytime she likes. The words in this book show how loss impacts us. We often feel alone when encountering a loss in our life. It is Bonnies hope that this book will help to open a dialog during times of loss and grief. She has also shared her love of photography to aid in uplifting your spirits. When Bonnie was asked to share some poems with a Hospice group, she discovered that she had accumulated many poems over the last thirty years that addressed the loss of a friend, a place, or a loved one. Writing these poems was a way of dealing with those losses in her own life. As she found the poems, she realized that they could be of help to people during the grieving process. A gift of this book is a loving gesture to friends or loved ones during times of loss and grief. Proceeds from the sales of this book will be donated to Hospice.

I believe that there's a message behind the message. An aroma represents the presents of angels. It also is an indication of the many blessings from God. When it comes to dealing with the death of a loved one. We all have our own experiences. Through grievance, pain, loneliness, and anger. These are the most common issue in dealing with denial. But there's a spiritual realm that goes far beyond our means. We have to start by accepting a favorable reception. By sharing, caring, listening, and embracing. People tend to deal with grievances in their way. And there's no time limit on how long you should grieve. Knowing that we still have a greater connection with our beloved. So, let's start embracing the time and memories that were shared. Understand that death is only a part of life, An Aroma of Sweet Memories is a collection of grievance poetry. That I had written to help my readers and myself. Deal with the pain of death and dare to move beyond our sorrows. Then knowing when it's time to let go and let God. The poem (As I glance in the mirror, I see only me). It's about self-empowerment embracing life and loving yourself. Knowing that there's still life for you after suffering a loss. Our loved ones are still with us in spirit and memories. As a prolific writer, the basis of my poetry is to let the reader know that it's okay. The Bible tells us in John 3:16," For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish. But, have everlasting life

This little book of poems reveals how the author has dealt with the grief that accompanied the death of his wife of fifty-nine years. The poems are a conversation on the journey through the grieving process, which perhaps has no end. Yes, they are permeated with a deep faith that there is more to life than merely living and dying. At the same time, they are honest responses to how painful it is to lose your life partner. Many of the poems are autobiographical: about first encounter, marriage, life and love together, and death. The actual physical occurrence of death can be readily described by physicians, but its emotional and life effect is much more illusory. Without question, these poems are simply one person's response to death and grief. They provide no decisive answers on how to respond to either, but if one's open and honest response can help others address such challenges, so be it. The goal of the author is not to provide steps for the grieving, rather through poetry to share the thoughts of the heart and mind as they grapple with death and grief. He avers that through the very difficult process of grieving, which may never completely end, love alone is the key to healing and renewal.

Through an examination of the poetry of Anne Sexton, Audre Lorde, and Gloria Anzaldúa, We Heal From Memory paints a vivid picture of how our culture carries a history of traumatic violence - child sexual abuse, the ownership and enforcement of women's sexuality under slavery, the transmission of violence through generations, and the destruction of non-white cultures and their histories through colonization. According to Cassie Premo Steele, the poetry of Sexton, Lorde, and Anzaldúa allows us to witness and to heal from such disparate traumatic events.
