Francesco Suppa è nato a Cortale, l’11 gennaio dell’1939. È vissuto a Roma, nella “città eterna” per buona parte della sua vita. Ha lavorato giovanissimo in una fonderia; a 18 nella miniera di caolino sull’isola di Ponza. A 23 anni è tornato a Roma e ha lavorato in uno stabilimento di mosaici in vetro; a 25 anni intraprese il lavoro di operaio specializzato in manutenzioni autovetture. In questi luoghi chiusi ha continuato a mantenere viva la sua anima di “artista”: la passione per l’arte del traforo in legno, per la poesia, per la pittura. Dall’anno del pensionamento ha partecipato a diverse manifestazioni culturali come la mostra dell’artigianato presso Palazzo Rospigliosi a Zagarolo nel 2002, e a molti concorsi di poesie. Ha pubblicato i seguenti libri di poesie: “Riflessioni di un libero pensatore” Il Filo editore - Roma 2004 “Sentimenti ed Emozioni” Edito da Libreria Italiana - Ragusa 2006 “Poesie di un homeless letterario” Aletti editore - Roma, 2007 Ha contribuito con le sue poesie ai capitoli delle seguenti antologie: “Il Potere dell’anima” Inter. Ivano Maddalena è nato il 15 aprile 1972 a Santomio di Malo, provincia di Vicenza dove tuttora risiede. Vive a Vicenza. Ha conseguito la maturità magistrale e il baccalaureato in Teologia. Ha pubblicato nel febbraio del 2009 la sua prima raccolta di poesie dal titolo: Poesia. Appunto del Sentimento. Nel luglio 2009 con la casa editrice Nuovi Poeti ha pubblicato una breve raccolta di poesie: Vita mia. Nell’aprile 2010 è uscita la raccolta La fine della notte e nel febbraio 2011 Nascita di Giulia. Successivamente, nell’aprile 2012, Tornare a scrivere è poesia, la quinta raccolta di poesie in cui sono presenti anche due racconti. Ora esce la sesta raccolta Poesie e racconti. Alcuni suoi racconti sono presenti in antologie e raccolte di varie case editrici. Scrive per il giornale on line Il Popolo Veneto.

Un robusto tronchetto di faggio destinato a diventare cenere è il protagonista di questo libro per l’infanzia dello scrittore e poeta Francesco Musella. La resistenza ostinata del “Brutto ceppo” al crudele destino provoca la rabbia di nonno Girolamo che dopo vari tentativi, maldestramente, prova ad abbrustolirlo con una tanica di gasolio, causando l’incendio della casa e mettendo a repentaglio la vita del suo nipotino Giovanni, oltre che la propria. Ma sfuggendo, rocambolescamente, alle fiamme, il tronchetto diventa veicolo di salvezza del piccolo, ricevendo come premio, dal vecchio Girolamo, anch’egli salvo per miracolo, di essere trasformato in una bella seggiola per Giovannino. Il racconto, fantastico, vuole essere un inno alla tenacia e un invito a non lasciarsi mai sopraffare dalla rabbia che, come insegna il proverbio, è cattiva consigliera. Una vivace e colorata sequenza di illustrazioni, autrice la mia assistente editoriale, Cristina Semino, accompagna lo scorrere del testo di semplice e piacevole lettura. Francesco Musella, è nato a Napoli nel 1951, ma risiede a Milano dal 1973. A private and distant Sardinia animates the texts of this double correspondence, between archaic landscapes and personal and literary mythologies, in which Ferrara, the town of the authors' youthful years, is occasionally mentioned, with its richness of life, magazines (Bottai's «Primato», «Corriere Padano» with Bassani...), evening meetings in taverns or rented rooms, walks along the Rampari river, and the use of playful nicknames which would continue even after youth ended. A world made of concrete things, animated and enlivened by strong intellectual curiosities and passions, emerges from the letters reconstructing the life and history of Giuseppe Dessí, Mario Pinna and Claudio Varese, which have been carefully transcribed and annotated by Costanza Chimirri. The correspondence opens with the years spent in Ferrara - after Pisa, a crucial moment for their education - and allows the author to reconstruct atmospheres and environments, readings and work, offering a significant cross-section of twentieth-century Italy from within. The letters are never disconnected from one another, but rather united by the continuous call to the triple friendship in the name of Giuseppe Dessí, who is always present in the others' speeches even when he is not actually mentioned. The correspondence also allowed to bring to light unpublished texts by the most secluded member of the group (Mario Pinna, an avid reader of the classics, Spanish specialist, author of poems in the dialect of Logudoro and of short stories set in Sardinia), to strengthen the role that has always been played by the eldest, Claudio Varese, the maître-camarade; and to confirm once again how much Dessí's creative universe, deeply marked by the biographical element, has continued to develop and feed under the wise and affectionate gaze of fraternal friends, in an exchange which can give life to an actual collective imagination.
