What you see is what you look for. Our lives become more about what can be viewed on a smartphone, and less about what can be found right in front of us. Deterred by our own self-deprecating limits of language and imagination we no longer see the colour, emotion, and beauty hidden inside every single one of us. When are we not creative or analytic enough? When is it too much? This curiosity fuels our language, our creativity, our poetry. Our love for making the world which we see is what cycles this everlasting beauty. We have evolved. We invented a different breed of language. As we evolve evermore, we will fight for our serenity within to capture this pure, eurythmic and honest understanding. Within this chaotic world of rules, I have let romanticism and science fuel daily curiosities, and share them in a way that makes better sense and yet still up for mystery.

T S Eliot And The Poetics Of Evolution written by Lois A. Cuddy and has been published by Bucknell University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

"Guided by Eliot's own allusions and references to specific authors and historical moments, Cuddy adds a feminist, cultural, and intertextual perspective to the familiar critical interpretations of Eliot's work in order to reread poems and plays through nineteenth-century ideologies and knowledge set against our own time. By considering the implications and consequences of Eliot's culturally approved assumptions, this study further reveals how Eliot was trapped between the idea of Evolution as a unifying project and the reality of his own and his culture's hierarchical (and fragmenting) beliefs about class, gender, religion, and race. Cuddy concludes by exploring how this conflict undermined Eliot's mission of unity and influenced his (and Modernism's) place in history."--BOOK JACKET.

Theodore Roethke S Far Fields written by Peter Balakian and has been published by LSU Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999-03-01 with Literary Criticism categories.

In this critical study of Theodore Roethke's poetry, Peter Balakian treats the evolution of the poet's work from his first book, Open House (1941), to his last, The Far Field (1964). Balakian argues that Roethke was among the most innovative poets of his time and that The Lost Son and Other Poems (1948) brought America to a new frontier in the contemporary era. Balakian maintains that Roethke combined and furthered major traditions in English and American poetry -- the formal poetics and meditative sensibility of British metaphysical and Romantic poetry, the American visionary tradition, and the innovations of modernism. The early chapters of the book explore Roethke's intellectual, religious, nd psychological development and his development as a poet. Balakian discusses the influence of William Carlos Williams on Roethke's work and claims that the relationship between the two poets provided Roethke with a sense of the American grain. Later chapters treat the shift from self-absorption to union with otherness that marks Roethke's love poems, exploring the poet's development of mysticism and a poetic persona and examining the influences of Eliot and Whitman on his work. Balakian also discusses the metaphysical language necessary for Roethke's late poems and follows Roethke's spiritual progress as he prophetically faces his final work.In presenting the evolution of Roethke's career, Balakian offers fresh and original readings of the poetry. He avoids any monolithic approach to the body of Roethke's work, employing instead various approaches to Roethke's stages of poetic evolution. Balakian makes use of the psychology of C.G. Jung and Erich Neumann, the writings of the mystics, the aesthetics of William Carlos Williams, and the myth of the American frontier. With a literary historian's concern for Roethke's place in history and a critic's eye for the sources and structures of poetry, Balakian studies the resonances of language and the inner life of this poet's craft. Theodore Roethke's Far Fields places Roethke firmly in literary and intellectual history and asserts his place as a major poet.

Black Blue Purple Pale written by Gita Bhattacharya and has been published by Author House this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-09-13 with Poetry categories.

Travel on the roller coaster ride of the human mind. Each section in Black, Blue, Purple, Pale, captures the emotional intensity of the state of mind that each color represents. Starting with the darkly rumbling inner-pain personified in "Black," girls with "Lithium and Laced Leggings" and "Creatures of the Night" will "Divide by Zero" and "Break the Framework of Society and Self." The darkness melts into "Blue," where confusion and chaos reign in the world of "The Castlebuilder" and "Quantum Subshells." Things begin to recalibrate themselves in "Purple," as the speaker discovers a "Sensuous and Soporific" love that inevitably brews "A Fire Inside." Finally, "Pale" represents the speaker's catharsis and emotional maturity. But not completely white, "Pale" leaves the speaker painfully cognizant of the scars and mistakes of the past. A beautiful and modern anthology, Black, Blue, Purple, Pale celebrates the great spectrum of emotions--sorrow, confusion, passion, and acceptance-- that characterize personal growth.
