Magisterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Politik - Thema: Frieden und Konflikte, Sicherheit, Note: 2,0, Universität Trier, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Exposé 1. Relevanz: Seit ETA 1968 während einer Verkehrskontrolle, in dem Polizisten José Pardines ihr erstes Opfer forderte, fanden über 800 Menschen durch ETA den Tod. An dieser Stelle ist anzumerken, dass ETA zunächst landesweite Bewunderung als Speerspitze im antifranquistischen Widerstand entgegenschlug. Und tatsächlich war es ETA, die mit der Ermordung von Luis Carrero Blanco, dem designierten Nachfolger von Francisco Franco, die Transformation Spaniens zur Demokratie einleitete. Ironischerweise war es allerdings auch ETA, die diese junge Demokratie immer wieder bis ins Mark erschütterte. So legte sie nach genannter Transformation keineswegs ihre Waffen nieder. Im Gegenteil, nie wieder in ihrer Geschichte tötete ETA so viele Menschen, wie unmittelbar nach der Transformation und dem Erlangen umfangreicher Autonomierechte für das Baskenland. Nicht Autonomie, nicht Wohlstand und auch nicht kulturelle Freiheit und Förderung im Baskenland konnte die Organisation bis zum heutigen Tage dauerhaft vom Pfade der Gewalt abbringen. 2. Fragestellung: Naturgemäß hat die einzureichende Magisterarbeit nicht den Anspruch mit den umfangreichen Untersuchungen ausgewiesener Experten zu konkurrieren. Jedoch will sie mit dem möglichst engen Blickwinkel auf die Persistenz terroristischer Gewalt im Baskenland, den neuesten Stand dieser Gewaltstrategie sowie seine Ursachen und mögliche Perspektiven herausarbeiten. Folglich lautet die Forschungsfrage: Wie entwickelte sich der militante baskische Nationalismus seit dem Übergang zur Demokratie? Warum konnten seit der so genannten Transición, weder Demokratie, noch Autonomie den baskischen Terrorismus bis zur Gegenwart beenden? Wo liegen die Anreize und Strukturen fortdauernder Gewaltanwendung?

Gewalt ist nicht nur eine Männerdomäne. Denn physische und psychische Gewalt wird sowohl vom männlichen, als auch vom weiblichen Geschlecht angewendet. Allerdings ist das Phänomen der Jungengewalt gut erforscht und bearbeitet, während die Anwendung und Ausprägung von Gewalt durch Mädchen und junge Frauen weitgehend unerforscht sind. Der Wissensstand über die Motive und die Ursachenkomplexe ist hier bisher eher gering. In dieser Studie wird auf der Basis von Leitfadeninterviews Licht ins Dunkel gebracht. Ausgangslage ist hierbei gezielt das weibliche Geschlecht und keine weiterführenden Thesen, die vom männlichen Geschlecht abgeleitet sind. Die betroffenen weiblichen Jugendlichen und Heranwachsenden kommen zu Wort, beschreiben ihre Lebenswelten und werden als Experten ihrer Selbst betrachtet. Zudem wird die Sichtweise der Zielgruppe objektiv pädagogisch und sozialwissenschaftlich analysiert und interpretiert. Ziel ist es einen umfassenden Einblick in das gewalttätige Verhalten von Mädchen und Frauen zu erlangen, deren Ausprägung festzustellen, die Ursachen herauszufiltern und die speziell für dieses Geschlecht mit sich einhergehenden Folgen zu analysieren. Ein Kernergebnis dieses Buches ist, dass Mädchen genauso massiv und schwerwiegend körperliche Gewalt einsetzen wie Jungen. Gewalt wird nicht nur gegen das eigene Geschlecht, sondern auch gegen Jungen und Männer gerichtet.

A philosophical investigation into the connections between trust and violence The limiting of violence through state powers is one of the central projects of the modern age. Why then have recent centuries been so bloody? In Trust and Violence, acclaimed German intellectual and public figure Jan Philipp Reemtsma demonstrates that the aim of decreasing and deterring violence has gone hand in hand with the misleading idea that violence is abnormal and beyond comprehension. We would be far better off, Reemtsma argues, if we acknowledged the disturbing fact that violence is normal. At the same time, Reemtsma contends that violence cannot be fully understood without delving into the concept of trust. Not in violence, but in trust, rests the foundation of true power. Despite implicating ethnicity in everything from civil war to economic failure, researchers seldom consult psychological research when addressing the most basic question: What is ethnicity? The result is a radical scholarly divide generating contradictory recommendations for solving ethnic conflict. Research into how the human brain actually works demands a revision of existing schools of thought. Hale argues ethnic identity is a cognitive uncertainty-reduction device with special capacity to exacerbate, but not cause, collective action problems. This produces a new general theory of ethnic conflict that can improve both understanding and practice. A deep study of separatism in the USSR and CIS demonstrates the theory's potential, mobilizing evidence from elite interviews, three local languages, and mass surveys. The outcome significantly reinterprets nationalism's role in CIS relations and the USSR's breakup, which turns out to have been a far more contingent event than commonly recognized.
