This is the first anthology that conveys in detail the actual situation of population geographies in Japan, a country facing some of the world's most serious demographic trends such as low fertility, population aging, and depopulation. The anthology consists of two volumes with the common title Japanese Population Geographies. All of the included entries are based on original Japanese papers written by leading geographers and published within the past few years, useful for understanding Japan’s current population geographies. The first volume analyzes the postwar transition of internal migration, examining the structural changes of population in urban areas, and proposes a new measure different from the traditional resident population. This volume also presents an investigation of the retirement migration of baby boomers as well as displacement migration due to the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. The second volume’s contents examine the residential choices of minority populations such as foreign residents and sexual minorities. It also discusses future prospects associated with mono-polar concentration into Tokyo, regional forecasting using population projections based on small-area units, and the importance of a politico–economic perspective in future research. Taken as a whole, this anthology offers the following two significant contributions. First, the excellent achievements obtained in Japan, which is experiencing serious demographic trends, reflect key developments within the context of the world's population geography. The second contribution is that the publication brings the latest insights and important policy implications to countries that are facing various issues associated with decreasing fertility, aging population, and declining population.

Introduction To Quantitative Reasoning written by Neil Simonetti and has been published by Linus Learning this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020 with Juvenile Nonfiction categories.

Introduction to QR, Quantitative Reasoning and Discrete Mathematics was designed for the introductory college student who may not have fully understood mathematical concepts in secondary schools. With a focus on applications, this book is divided into small digestible pieces with lots of examples illustrating a variety of topics. Use the whole book for a two semester sequence, or pick and choose topics to make a single semester course. The most basic of algebra topics are reintroduced, with an emphasis on learning how to translate scenarios into problems that can be solved or modeled with linear functions. Scientific notation and significant figures are applied to problems involving unit conversion, including examples with the Consumer Price Index. The basics of personal finance are explained, including interest, loans, mortgages, and taxes. Statistical topics are introduced to give the students the ability to look critically at the myriad of numerical sound bites tossed out in today’s social media. Combinatorics and probability topics are introduced in a way to be accessible to students seeing the material for the first time. Logic and graph theory are used to solve some traditional types of games and puzzles. Applications are connected to issues in modern Christianity with references to 18th century philosopher Emanuel Swedenborg, including why Intelligent Design does not act as proof of God, and how random chance and Divine Providence work together. Each chapter ends with a project related to the chapter, often involving spreadsheet programs or website data collection. About the Author Neil Simonetti, PhD, Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Bryn Athyn College, has been teaching Mathematics, Computer Science and Operations Research courses for almost 20 years. He is committed to showing students who are afraid of mathematics that the basics of this subject do not have to be difficult and confusing. This work results from discovering what these students need in mathematics to succeed in business, science, and social science courses.

This is an updated version of the best selling first edition, Ecological Census Techniques, with updating, some new chapters and authors. Almost all ecological and conservation work involves carrying out a census or survey. This practically focussed book describes how to plan a census, the practical details and shows with worked examples how to analyse the results. The first three chapters describe planning, sampling and the basic theory necessary for carrying out a census. In the subsequent chapters international experts describe the appropriate methods for counting plants, insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds. As many censuses also relate the results to environmental variability, there is a chapter explaining the main methods. Finally, there is a list of the most common mistakes encountered when carrying out a census.

In parallel, nature God also passed new knowledge to prophets in the West to promote Western civilization during the same time period. It is fair to say that Fu Xi represents a pair of philosophical concepts of yin and yang of Chinese culture. Fu Xi represents yin-and-yang philosophy. The universe generates itself in a closed circle fashion following the laws of nature God. The earth generates itself in a tunnel spiral fashion with and without breaks. Human beings generate themselves in a straight-line fashion, going back and forth. Universe, earth, and human are all share destiny with nature.
