Segundo o Censo da Educação Superior de 2017, já existem pelo menos 87 cursos de graduação e 13 programas de pós-graduação estruturados a partir da interculturalidade – e, portanto, mais próximos da realidade brasileira. Nesta pesquisa, acompanhei a quarta turma do Mestrado em Sustentabilidade junto a Povos e Terras Tradicionais (MESPT) da Universidade de Brasília para compreender os limites institucionais que a educação intercultural enfrenta e como a universidade pode se reestruturar para se tornar um espaço de promoção de justiça epistêmica e material.

O enfoque de Paulo Freire como precursor da educação intercultural é desenvolvido na obra Paulo Freire: gênese da educação intercultural no Brasil pela pesquisadora da UEPA, Ivanilde Apoluceno de Oliveira, com cuidado e rigor científico.
