Gegenwärtig gibt es viel Wissen was die Krankheitsbilder selbst angeht, jedoch fehlen immer noch genügend spezifische Beratungsangebote für chronisch kranke Patienten und ihre Angehörigen, sowie Möglichkeiten und Unterstützungsangebote zur Krankheits-bewältigung. Ich habe mich in diesem Portfolio mit allen Belegstücken dem Thema Schreiben gewidmet. Das Beschäftigen mit Literatur, das Skizzieren einer Krankheitsverlaufskurve auf der Basis eines autobiographischen Berichts und das Beschreiben eigener Krankheitserfahrungen sollen Möglichkeiten aufzeigen, wie man das Lesen und Schreiben als Form der Krankheitsbewältigung nutzen kann. Dabei soll ein Lehrtext zeigen, wie Bibliotherapie chronisch kranken Patienten helfen kann, ihre aktuelle Situation besser verstehen und bewältigen zu können. Wilhelm Thom, dessen Krankheitsverlaufskurve nach Strauss und Corbin dargestellt wird, zeigt, wie er als querschnittsgelähmter Patient durch das Niederschreiben seiner eigenen Krankheits-erfahrungen seine Erlebnisse Revue passieren lässt und dadurch beginnen kann, seine Behinderung zu akzeptieren. Die Darstellung meiner eigenen Gedanken zum Krankheitsverständnis lassen einen Blick auf meine Erfahrungen, die ich persönlich und in meinem sozialen Umfeld gemacht habe, werfen.

Sie lassen in den Industrieländern ihren Anteil, zum einen an Todesfällen und zum anderen an den nicht zum Tode führenden Erkrankungen, ansteigen. Chronische Krankheiten erfassen Menschen in allen Lebensphasen und beeinträchtigen sie über lange Zeitspannen hinweg. Unveränderbare Beeinträchtigungen charakterisieren sie gleichermaßen, wie ein im Verlauf steigender und wechselnder Unterstützungs- und Versorgungsbedarf, der insbesondere an die Pflege herangetragen wird (vgl. Schaeffer/Moers 2000, S. 447). Die Pflege, vor allem im Krankenhausbereich, berücksichtigt bislang die besonderen Anforderungen an die Betreuung und Versorgung chronisch Erkrankter jedoch kaum (vgl. u.a. Hellige 2002, Hüper/Hellige 2007, Schaeffer/Moers 2008). Um diesem Manko an Patientenorientierung zu begegnen ist es unerlässlich, das Erleben der chronisch Erkrankten in den Mittelpunkt pflegerischer Interventionen zu stellen, denn ihr Erleben stellt den Ursprung pflegerischer Handlungen dar (vgl. Hellige 2002, S.81). Dieses Portfolio setzt sich speziell mit der Patientensicht auf chronische Krankheit, ihrem Erleben und Bewältigungshandeln auseinander. Für die Darlegung der fachlichen Kompetenz wurde ein Essay in Form einer Broschüre für Pflegekräfte verfasst und gestaltet. Gegenstand dieser Druckschrift ist das Phänomen des als non-compliant wahrgenommen chronisch kranken Patienten, da an diesem Phänomen die Relevanz, sowohl des Erlebens der chronisch Erkrankten als auch ihres Bewältigungshandelns, deutlich wird.
