Vom Franquismus zur Postmoderne - dieser Zeitraum ist gekennzeichnet durch fundamentale Paradigmenwechsel, die alle Ebenen von Politik, Gesellschaft und Kultur in Spanien umfassen: Der friedvolle Ubergang von der Diktatur zur Demokratie, der diskursive Wandel des Weiblichkeitskonzeptes sowie die Offnung des literarischen Feldes. In der engen Vernetzung dieser gesellschaftlichen, diskursiven und literarischen Veranderungen erweist sich die spanische Transicion als ergiebiges Feld fur eine kulturwissenschaftliche Untersuchung der Wechselwirkung von diskursivem Wandel und Literaturproduktion. Ausgangspunkt dieser Studie ist der Paradigmenwechsel im Weiblichkeitsdiskurs mit seinen Auswirkungen auf die Literatur. Die neue gesetzlich verankerte Freiheit stellt die Frauen in der spanischen Transicion vor die Herausforderung, sich an den diskursiven Pragungen des Franquismus `abzuarbeiten' und sich selbst neu zu konstituieren. In der Literatur problematisiert eine wachsende Zahl an Autorinnen ihr Frausein, die Lebensbedingungen von Frauen oder Weiblichkeit im Allgemeinen. Wie verandert sich das Schreiben uber Weiblichkeit im Kontext dieser diskursiven und kulturellen Wandlungen? Wie wird im literarischen Text das Zusammenwirken von Feminismus, Postmoderne und gesellschaftlich-politischem Diskursfeld ausgelotet, jenen Diskursfeldern, die den Zeitraum vom Franquismus zur Postmoderne massgeblich pragen? In einer diachronen Perspektive vor, wahrend und nach der Transicion wird in exemplarischen Fallstudien anhand der jeweiligen literarischen Weiblichkeitskonstruktionen die Verflechtung von Literatur und kulturellem Kontext nachvollzogen und analysiert. Dabei steht nicht nur die inhaltliche Gestaltung von Weiblichkeit im Fokus des Interesses, sondern die Studie liefert wichtige Erkenntnisse zur kulturellen Dimension literarischer Schreibverfahren

This book offers a transdisciplinary perspective on the question of how political legitimacy is constructed in the increasingly contested postnational setting of the European Union. Drawing on the example of the controversy about the EU constitution and the use of ‘EU constitution speak’ in commentaries published by Polish and French broadsheets, it reveals the transformation that constructions of political authority and association undergo when they are being transposed from the discourse field of multilateral negotiation to that of national news media. Through an original combination of the linguistic theory of discourse developed in Critical Discourse Analysis, Bourdieu’s field theory and notion of symbolic power, and political thought on polity-building, it develops a framework for the discourse study of legitimation and Europeanisation, and proposes applications beyond the case studies in the book.To students of European integration, it demonstrates the potential these concepts have for unravelling the implicit practices of postnational polity building. Discourse researchers, on the other hand, will discover how detailed text analyses gain significance in debates related to the macro level of political organisation when guided by sociological and political theory.
