The Little Frankie stories, are popular children’s books written by Herriette Newell Woods, and were first published in the 1860s; the set contended six books in all. They are “Little Frankie And His Mother, Little Frankie at His Plays, Little Frankie and His Cousin, Little Frankie and His Father, Little Frankie on a Journey, and Little Frankie at School.” The theme of the stories is about a little boy (Frankie), his family and school friends, and by his interaction with them Frankie learns about right and wrong. The books have a religious or moral theme, their style is considered very true to life, and the characters have been thought of as original and detailed. Through the series Frankie learns how to think about life in a biblical way, and to stop and ask himself if this is the ways of the Christ. These books are so inspiring that not only will children of all ages enjoy reading them, but parents will appreciate reading them aloud to their whole family. Although the books were quite popular when they were originally printed and have remained so, they were never published before together in one volume. Of all six books, “Little Frankie and His Father” is the rarest; even so much that at the present it cannot be found in the form of eBook. Therefore this volume will be the first of its kind, not only because “Little Frankie and His Father” is here in eBook form, but also because all six book are offered together in one volume. Many illustrations that were in the original printing have been added to this volume. The illustrations have been touched up and colored. The spelling of many of the outdated words and punctuation has been modernized. We have also added a linked table of contents which will take you directly to the book or chapter of your choice.

The life of David Livingstone by W. Garden Blaikie is mostly from his unpublished journals and correspondence in the possession of his family and contains over 40 illustrations. The purpose of this work was to make the world better acquainted with the character of Livingstone. His discoveries and researches have been given to the public in his own books, but his modesty led him to say little in these of himself, and those who knew him best feel that little is known of the strength of his affections, the depth and purity of his devotion, or the intensity of his aspirations as a Christian missionary. The growth of his character and the providential shaping of his career are also matters of remarkable interest, of which not much has yet been made known. An attempt has been made in this volume, likewise, to present a more complete history of his life than has yet appeared. Many chapters of it are opened up of which the public have hitherto known little or nothing. It has not been deemed necessary to dwell on events recorded in his published Travels, except for the purpose of connecting the narrative and making it complete. Even on these, however, it has been found that not a little new light and color may be thrown from his correspondence with his friends and his unpublished Journals. Much pains was taken to show the unity and symmetry of his character. As a man, a Christian, a missionary, a philanthropist, and a scientist, Livingstone ranks with the greatest of of men, and shows the minimum of infirmity in connection with the maximum of goodness. Nothing can be more telling than his life as an evidence of the truth and power of Christianity, as a plea for Christian Missions and civilization, or as a demonstration of the true connection between religion and science. The recovery of an important private journal of Dr. Livingstone, which had been lost at the time when the Missionary Travels was published, has thrown much new light on the part of his life immediately preceding his first great journey. A Map has been specially prepared, in which the geographical references in the volume are shown, which will enable the reader to follow Livingstone's movements from place to place. With so much material, it would have been easier to write a life in two volumes than in one; but for obvious reasons it has been deemed desirable to restrict it to the present limits. W. Garden Blaikie wrote one if not the fullest and most lively account of the personal life and ministry of Dr. Livingstone that has ever been put out. He gives the reader a real feel for the struggles and the joy that Dr. Livingston experienced, as well as a true atmosphere of the ages in which he lived. By the end of the book not only is the reader fully acquainted with Dr. Livingston, but one feels as though you know him.

Wherever Moody spoke, whether in his own country or in other English-speaking lands, he invariably commanded attention and aroused interest of the people. He retained to the very last of his public career the qualities which marked him from the outset as a potent preacher. The London Spectator wrote of him saying "Mr. Moody undoubtedly exerted a powerful and stimulating influence, not only on the masses, but on many of those who were his superiors in birth, breeding or intellect. D.L. Moody has taken his place among the immortals. In his own sphere his work was owned by God as truly as was that of Mr. Spurgeon in his sphere. Mr. Moody gave great prominence and power to the work of the laity. He emphasized the gentler rather than the sterner elements of the Gospel. His ministry was one of declaration rather than one of argumentation. His educational work is the most enduring feature of his unique service and his consecrated life.J. Wilbur Chapman was a friend and close colleague of Mr. Moody for many years. He tells of the life and work of Moody like no other. He brings closeness to Moody as only a close acquaintance could.

Charles Finney was originally pursuing a career in law. He found Christ when researching the Bible to better understand law. He gave his life to the cause of Christ and became one of the greatest advocates for the Christian church. He devoted his life to telling others about Christ. He was the first evangelist to make a public invitation to his congregations, and he thought it very necessary for people to make concrete decisions for Christ and to be counseled either as a new convert or a seasoned Christian. His sermons were so powerful that they started many revivals throughout the Northeastern United States and many lives were changed. In this gripping tale you will see how God used this man to argue His case.

John Wycliffe written by Sergeant, Lewis and has been published by Delmarva Publications, Inc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with History categories.

This is a reprint of the original work by Lewis Sergeant. We have re-typeset the text in a more modern and easy to read font. We have also updated the book with new photos of many of the old illustrations and added many new ones as well. Apart from updating the spelling and/or the modernizing of a few archaic words as well as the conversion of Roman numerals to Arabic numbers, (modern numbers), the original work was left intact. However, in the present work there have been quite a few notes added by Rev. Peter J. Carter. Where these notes appear, they are enclosed with breaks, like so, [Notes], to indicate which are from the original work and which are the addition to the present work. Original notes from the author are not enclosed in breaks. THE plan on which this volume has been written, and (I trust) the excuse for adding one more to the considerable number of recent works on Wyclif, are perhaps sufficiently indicated in the first few chapters, and particularly in the fourth. It might not have been worthwhile to rewrite the story of this English worthy of the fourteenth century, even with the encouragement of a few fresh facts and sidelights to develop and illustrate his character, if it had not been for the opportunity thus afforded of doing something to popularize the picture of John Wyclif as an Oxford Schoolman, and the picture of the Schoolmen in general as pioneers of the Reformation of Religion and the Revival of Learning. In a volume not specially intended for laborious students, it would scarcely have been appropriate to enter on a detailed examination of Wyclif's scholastic and controversial writings. Such a work remains to be accomplished, but it cannot well be undertaken until the Wyclif Society has completed its task. For a similar reason I have not introduced a full bibliography of books and other documents relating to Wyclif. Most of my authorities will be found cited in the text and notes; but I would here express my special obligation to the editors of various volumes in the Rolls Series, to the writers of various articles in the Dictionary of National Biography— which has become indispensable to every historical student,—to Mr. R. L. Poole, and Mr. F. D. Matthew. Of the reputed portraits of Wyclif mentioned in the first chapter, six are reproduced in the present volume. Three of the most characteristic of these— the Bale, Hondius, and Houston engravings—do not seem to have been printed since the centuries in which they were respectively produced. At any rate, the six are now brought together for the first time, and the reader must be left to determine for himself which of the series is most likely to represent John Wyclif as he lived.
