Oscillators have traditionally been described in books for specialist needs and as such have suffered from being inaccessible to the practitioner. This book takes a practical approach and provides much-needed insights into the design of oscillators, the servicing of systems heavily dependent upon them and the tailoring of practical oscillators to specific demands. To this end maths and formulae are kept to a minimum and only used where appropriate to an understanding of the theory. Once grasped, the theory of the general oscillator is easily put into practical use in actual oscillators. The final two chapters present a collection of oscillators from which the practising engineer or the hobbyist can obtain useful guidance for many kinds of projects. Irving Gottlieb is a leading author of many books for practising engineers, technicians and students of electronic and electrical engineering. - First Newnes title by this best-selling author - Clarity and crispness in an often obscure field

Quartz Crystal Oscillator Circuits Design Handbook written by D. Firth and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1965 with Amplifiers (Electronics) categories.
The object of this handbook is to assemble a set of design methods for crystal oscillators in the frequency range of 1 KC to 200 MC with the aim of facilitating design, eliminating crystal unit misapplications, and reducing design costs. The handbook is not directed at the design of ultra-stable crystal oscillators, but rather at the non-temperature controlled, medium frequency stability oscillator commonly in use in many types of communications equipment. The handbook contains discussions of: (1) The electrical characteristics of crystal units, condition of usage, and methods of measurement. (2) Characteristics of tube and transistor amplifiers. (3) Characteristics of impedance transforming networks. (4) Detailed design information on series resonance and anti-resonance oscillators. (5) Design examples together with experimental evaluation data covering most of the 1 KC to 200 MC range. (Author).
The Designer S Guide To High Purity Oscillators

The Designer S Guide To High Purity Oscillators written by Emad Hegazi and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005 with Technology & Engineering categories.
The Designer's Guide to High-Purity Oscillators presents a comprehensive theory and design methodology for the design of LC CMOS oscillators used in every wireless transmission system. The authors introduce the subject of phase noise and osciallators from the very first principles, and carry the reader to a very intuitive circuit-driven theory of phase noise in LC osciallators. The presented theory includes both thermal and flicker noise effects. Based on Hegazi, Rael, and Abidi's mechanistic theory, a sensible design methodology is gradually developed. In addition, new topologies that were recently published by the authors are discussed in detail and an optimal design methodology is presented. While the book focuses on intuition, it rigorously proves every argument to present a compact yet accurate model for predicting phase noise in LC oscillators. By so doing, the design of an LC osciallator can be handled in the same manner as an amplifier design.

Oscillators are an important component in today's RF and microwave systems, and practitioners in the field need to know how to design oscillators for stability and top performance. Offering engineers broader coverage than other oscillator design books on the market, this comprehensive resource considers the complete frequency range, from low-frequency audio oscillators to more complex oscillators found at the RF and microwave frequencies. Packed with over 1,200 equations, the book gives professionals a thorough understanding of the principles and practice of oscillator circuit design and emphasizes the use of time-saving CAD (computer aided design) simulation techniques. From the theory and characteristics of oscillators, to the design of a wide variety of oscillators (including tuned-circuit, crystal, negative-resistance, and relaxation oscillators), this unique book is a one-stop reference practitioners can turn to again and again when working on their challenging projects in this field.

Lecture Notes In Analogue Electronics written by Vančo Litovski and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-10-31 with Technology & Engineering categories.
This book is mostly devoted to amplification of analogue signals. It covers different technologies (bipolar, MOS, and MES), and different frequency ranges but it always deals with small signals. Analogue signals processed in electronic system may have a wide variety of origins. Among them we have the signals coming from sensors (electro-mechanical, electro-magnetic, electro-chemical, electro-acoustic, electro-optical, etc.), the signals coming from antennas being produced by another electronic system or are simply cosmic produced, and signals that are generated within the electronic systems. The common property of most of the signals is their small amplitude. In many cases it is below a micro-volt. Since at the output of the system we most frequently need a high amplitude signal the main action undertaken in the electronic system before any further processing is to amplify.

Experienced product designers are increasingly expected to be adept at incorporating a range of components into their designs. Students and experimenters too need to look beyond basic circuits and devices to achieve adequate design solutions. For those experienced in engineering design, this is the guide to electric motors. This book will allow engineers and designers to marry the technologies they know about with motor technology, and hence to incorporate motors into their products. Of the many good books on motors, such as Electric Motors and Drives by Hughes, none offer the engineering professional a tailored guide to motors taking into account their expertise. This book fills that gap. Irving Gottlieb is a leading author of many books for practising engineers, technicians and students of electronic and electrical engineering. - Practical approach with minimum theory - Covers a core area ignored by many electronics texts - Shows how to incorporate motors into electronic products

The topics covered include ESCA flame photometry; atomic absorption and emission spectroscopy, including plasma emission; infrared spectroscopy; Raman spectroscopy; ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy; electron spin resonance, X-ray spectroscopy, mass photoelectric absorption coefficients, appearance potential spectroscopy, thermal neutron cross sections and resonance integrals for activation analysis, tables of experimental values of X-ray fluorescence and Coster-Kronig yields for the K-, L-, and M-shells. Other topics include 14 MeV neutron activation cross sections; wavelength standards in visible, ultraviolet, and near-infrared spectroscopy; electron affinities, wavelength-dependent and electronic system oscillator strengths for free diatomic molecules of astrophysical importance; electron spin resonance applicaton to the study of minerals and glasses; experimental lifetimes, Franck-Condon factors; and vibrational and rotational oscillator strengths. The concise format and wealth of information ensures that no spectroscopist will want to be without the updated and revised Practical Handbook of Spectroscopy.
